I think you have a solid concept and a beautiful model. There are elements to him that are intriguing, for sure.
Your model is a stunning beauty. The different skin tones, the peaceful expression and the gorgeous body hair are all strong points. All of these things against the busy pattern of whatever he's lying on is distracting.
The other distraction - and my main difficulty - is the hard cropping of this image. The top of his head is cut off, his other leg is cut off, as well. If your idea was to focus on his chest, then the cropping could have been tighter. If that wasn't the idea, then why not include all of his beautiful body? This cropping is just a little odd and somewhat jarring.

my style during photo shoots does not usually include highly thought out shots.
I suggest locations and general poses, and then take multiple images with different camera angles, zooms and framing.Β I look at them afterwards and and select the ones i like best for posting, sometimes doing additional cropping, sometimes not.
This one was not additionally cropped, and while all his parts may not be visible, I liked the combination of the parts that were visible.
As for the distracting background, I use the props that I have at hand.Β I rather like this couchΒ

This wasn't about tearing apart the piece, by any means - or insulting your couch. Β I only meant to say that when a man this beautiful is shot, he should be the focus. Again, it's all personal aesthetic. It's a good image.
