I read the books, came to check out the cover in more detail. Did you work with the author in detail on the designs or did you have full freedom? Are the designs considered canon? I don't recall that much detail about Lydias purple robes in the writing, so i always imagined them quite plain. Your design is much more interesting.

Andrew did give me a few restrictions and was pretty hands on when we were drafting her design in the early stages of the cover. However, i did kinda have free range on the finer details of their designs as the brief i was given was more of a guideline. I believe the design is considered canon since both me and andrew had a say in it and he didnt have any objections with the final outcome so that should answer your question
