"May I help you, ma'am?", he asked a lady in a crimson dress who walked slowly towads him.

"No, thank you -"

"Commander Fox, ma'am.", Fox answered.

"Commander. I was just wondering, why you would not dance." Her voice was soft and clear.

"I can't, ma'am."

"Because you are on guard duty?" He found no mocking in her words, only an honest question, something he did not expect on Coruscant, where lies and intrigues ruled.

"No, ma'am. I - can't."

"But you were invited to this ball, weren't you, Commander?"

"Yes, ma'am." Fox felt vulnerable in front of her. Her green eyes seemed to watch right into his very soul.

"Then why don't you have some fun, like all the others? This ball is to celebrate the Republic's victory on Umbara."

Fox did not want to answer that truthfully, but he couldn't lie to her. There was something about her, that made him want to be honest. "Because I don't fit here. I'm a clone."

"That doesn't mean you have no right to have fun yourself like all the others here. You deserve it, Commander."

"I still don't know how to dance, ma'am. I would only embarrass you!"

"No worries, Commander. All they'll see is their own failings. I will show you how to dance. May you remove your helmet? I would like to see your face."

Fox removed his helmet, showing his mutated red hair and pale blue eyes, and clipped it to his belt. Then he took her outstretched right hand.
