Leonard Nimoy Fanbook by blowdry over on Lj.The purpose of the book was as a mixed media tribute for Leonard Nimoy, which blowdry then personally delivered to the man himself at Dragon*Con!
Each participant was asked to submit two pages each; this is the second of my two images.
I decided to do something poignant for my second contribution and draw Spock/Mr Nimoy ageing over the years with his character.

It's really fascinating (pardon the pun) to see how Spock's character has evolved over the years, and even in this drawing it can be seen: from a strict, uber-Vulcan to a man who is clearly comfortable with both his Vulcan and human halves, and has learned how to make both a part of his life. A lot of people trash-talked Trek XI, and yes, it had its plot holes, but the thing I think it did very, very well with was completing Spock's journey of self-acceptance and reconciliation. Finally--he was truly half-human as well as half-Vulcan.
It will be interesting to see how the young Trek XI Spock evolves--perhaps the destruction of Vulcan will cause him to come to that conclusion much earlier than the Prime-Universe Spock did?

Couldn't agree with you more. And, whilst I am a trek-nut, I do give leeway with the Reboot-verse. Nothing to me is ever going to be a good as the original, but the cast are too old or have passed away - why should that be the end of it? I loved the new movie and I adored the fact that Spock and Kirk have a slightly different relationship (I certainly enjoy the fact that the new Kirk has been really, really screwed over by fact the date and still ended up where the original did, and younger too! He's got vulnerabilities that the original didn't have). New Spock seems much less severe and I welcome that, I look forward to seeing the second movie in December and seeing how these characters settle in as well as how Spock deals with being from and endangered race, the loss of his beloved mother, and the puzzle that is STILL James T. Kirk! =3

The different Spock' are read from right to left.
Starting with Star Trek TOS version - the ones after that are each from a movie, in order, until you reach the far left Spock who is, of course, from Reboot.
