Description Another big cross-over drawing, this time celebrating antagonist. Not just any antagonist, though - these guys are the most twisted, rat bastard epic tolls to ever ruin a hero's day. Whether they're brainwashing your security officer to betray you, causing you to regenerate more often then any of your other villains, or totally outwitting the Avengers*, these guys are masters of manipulation and deception.

The line-up (from L to R): Alfred Bester (Babylon 5), Benjamin Linus (Lost), Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs), GLaDOS (Portal), Gus Fring (Breaking Bad), Q (Star Trek), Kyubey (Puella Magi Madoka Magica), The Master (Doctor Who), and Loki (the Avengers)

Fun side note, I love how much bonus cross over there is in this picture. Bester was played by Walter Koenig, who was also Chekov in Star Trek TOS. Q was played by John de Lancie, who was Jane's dad on Breaking Bad. Hannibal is played by Anthony Hopkins, who was Loki's dad in Thor. That's just what I know of off top of my head; it wouldn't surprise me at all if there are more connections.
.
.
.
.
.
.
(* Seriously, if you think about it, Loki totally wins in the Avengers. He never really wanted Earth, he wanted Asgard; but after the events of Thor, he was trapped on Earth. So he strikes a deal with Thanos; and if you know anything about the comics, you know Thanos wants the Infinity Gauntlet, which is in Asgard. So Loki launches this scatter-brained plot that doesn't seem to really have any point - but it assembles the Avengers, who "defeat" him and ........ send him back to ASGARD! So Loki gets what he wants and gets one step closer to what Thanos wants. So, yeah, Loki totally won in the Avengers.)

you also forgot thatΒ John de Lancie also played Sam Prophet (Beka valentines uncle)Β in Gene Rodenberry's: Andromeda. He isΒ a major drug lord, personally responsible for the murder of an entire space station due to an overdose of flash. flash is an extremelyΒ addictiveΒ substance, it causes you to have an episode of extremeΒ hyperactivity, and each time you use it it requires more and more of the drug to get the same result.Β

On that note you can tributeΒ another bad thing to Bester, the telepathic drug "Dust" that has similar properties, except that it allows the user to use telepathy, the telepathic gene is required in some small amount for it but most have it. the drug allows you to commit a sort of "telepathic rape" and the Psi-Cops were the ones who were ultimately making the drug, all in effort to "create" new telepaths.

Is it even safe to keep that many conivving, manipulative and evil master trolls all in the same universe, let alone the same room?

Kyubey riding on the Master's shoulder amuses me more than it should, and Q's face is just perfect.

GLaDOS's troll face is a nice touch too.

This made me smile. It's very good.

Hmm. I don't know all of them, but reading through the description, you do point out some rather intriguing and thought provoking concepts, as well as some really interesting facts I was unaware about. I'm guessing the actor cross overs make sense, because each of the characters played has a certain personality, and only certain actors have that kind of personality to play the parts best, thus, them crossing over in some way or another is understandable/believable. I also find that last part about Loki...really intriguing, and do have to agree with the reasoning.

Really interesting artwork and enthralling explanation. Nice job. ^^

Well, Sir Travis, you certainly know how to make artwork and write a description that pull the reader and viewer into the image, and the fact it's about some rather well known antagonists, (even The Master I was shocked to read) it is topical and intriguing to quite a few.
So,

AdamWithers [2013-02-24 17:29:19 +0000 UTC]

You mean it as a bit of comedy, perhaps, but I could completely see Q, Loki, GLaDOS, and the Master in a kind of 4-way chess match to see who could be the most hilarious d-bag sack-o-dicks in all of time and space. The real winner would be the home audience.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TravisTheGeek In reply to AdamWithers [2013-02-25 03:18:18 +0000 UTC]

That would be the greatest show of all time!

And, actually, I gotta say that for me at least, the comedy aspect is only part of these cross-over drawings. Not that there's any great, deep meaning to them, of course, but something about connecting different characters like this has always fascinated me. /shrug/

Another fun aspect of this one, though: I'm loving seeing which characters different people recognize and/or get excited for. So far no one I've heard from has been familiar with all of them. I was actually a little surprised by the four you mentioned.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamWithers In reply to TravisTheGeek [2013-02-25 17:04:41 +0000 UTC]

I dunno, I just got a humor vibe off this one right away. While a couple of them are clearly NOT like the others, there are so many of the "funny" villains that I thought it was the theme before I noticed Hannibal Lector and Kyubey. I can only assume the BB dude isn't super humorous either.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TravisTheGeek In reply to AdamWithers [2013-02-25 20:27:41 +0000 UTC]

Haha, no he is not. (You guys should think about check out Breaking Bad sometime. It's quite good.)

And you're totally right about most of these characters being funny, and that is at least part of the theme. Even the darker ones like Hannibal have their amusing moments. I meant that I hope the drawing itself isn't seen as just a gag or meme or whatever. I know a lot of my stuff is humors in nature and I worry a little sometimes about not being taken seriously because of it, like I need to do more 'cool' or 'bad ass' drawings.

Suggestion. All are good but I would have gone with a more recognizable version of The Master. Such as the original and best, Roger Delgado.

Fair point, but I think Simms may be becoming the new standard in the same way Tennant has largely replaced Tom Baker as everyone's idea of the Doctor.

Aww, it always makes me a little sad to hear that people gave up on the show after 10 left. Tennant will always be MY Doctor, but I like Smith a lot, too. Plus, I like Moffat more then RTD (Nothing against him, of course. Just prefer Moffat.), so it actually evens out to where I kinda like the show better now.

Yeah I am wanting to check out the Matt Smith series to see if I like him or not, if I do I might get back into the series. Tennant is and will always be my favourite I think.
