Description
This was a request by an IGN user who goes by the alias of Nataku_195. It was a Zelda request btw and this is what he sent me:_________________________________________________________________________
"This is something that has percolated around in my mind for a very long time. After OoT, the idea that Hyrule was created by Naryu, Din and Farore really jived well with me. FInally Hyrule was given it's own fanciful "religion" as it were.
But when you think of the 3 Goddesses, how do you percieve them? Three in one person ala the holy Trinity? Three separate beings, all equal?
Three separate beings, unequal?
Me, I tend to go with the latter option, but with... creative liberties tongue
In my view, Nayru is supreme to Din; Din is supreme to Farore. Funny, after playing the Oracles and seeing their appearances therin, this fueled my ideas. Farore seemed to be a "kid" compared to the other two.
But anyway... the creative liberty part.
During OoT, a phrase I had heard a while back was always in my mind, and made me wonder what the Goddesses would look like outside of their Golden Forms in OoT. Once again, the Oracle games helped further this.
"The Keeper of Wisdom, the Forger of Strength, the Juror of Courage."
NAYRU: The Keeper of Wisdom
A lovely blue haired woman with an immaculately serene face. Her clear blue eyes are just brimming with peace and joy towards all mankind; her flowing hair wafts behind her as she moves, the very ether of Hyrule escaping off the ends and churning through the atmosphere, finally rolling and sweeping across the land. Even her pale skin has an ever so slight tinge of blue to it. She wears no make up; her natural beauty seems to permeate time itself. Around her neck hangs a small golden triangle which gently rests in the midst of her ample chest. Her breast literally convey an impressing sense of eternal maternal love for all the creatures below her.
She wears a sheer blue dress underneath a flowing translucent blue shawl which drapes about her shoulders and dangles down, accenting her tall, willowy stature. Nayru wears no shoes.
The only thing... and this adds immense mystery to her, is that her wrists are shackled together with large, glowing blue chains. They are long enough for her to move freely, however as a result she most often either keeps her hands crossed over her chest, or clasped together hanging down before her.
DIN: The Forger of Strength
A stong willed woman of fiery power. Her bronze face is forever emblazoned with a look of pure determination and righteous fervor; her fiery clear red irises are aglow with ferocious might, the type which is so unbearably contagious; each and every inhabitant of the land cannot help but to inherit her will of fire in some form or fasion. Her pepper red hair, unlike Nayru, is held back by a simple golden clasp with the majority of it hanging down to the middle of her back her almost like sharp spikes of rabid fire. Her dynamic lightning shaped earlocks further her look. The only makeup she wears resides on the edges of both her eyes; red eye shadow accents the already naturally intense gaze of hers.
Din wears formfitting shining red armor, the type a male knight would have worn, but with a definite feminine touch. The armor is not bulky, rather it proves that she IS a female while still retaining it's functional look; the armor's high backed neck adds to her overall appearance. A translucent red cape drapes from behind the shoulders of her armor and seems to dangle in the air with her movements.
At her side rests a red sword, VERY similar in design to the Master Sword; in her right hand she holds an enflamed Hammer, the type used for smithy work.
Around her neck hangs a golden triangle on a gold necklace; unlike Nayru, this necklace is much shorter, almost like a choker necklace.
FARORE: The Juror of Courage
Farore depicts an undying childlike courage in the face of adversity. Such courage is based on the knowledge of the truth that forever and always, Good triumphs over Evil. She appears to be 8 standard years old; her irrestibly cute face is never without her childish smile of content. Her wide clear green eyes always seem full of life and happiness towards all mankind, regardless of race. She has shoulder length green hair; her curly earlocks further qualify her young look. Unlike the other two, Farore does not wear bangs, rather her hair is helped kept back by a green crystal headband.
Farore wears a simple Green dress, the type any small girl might wear on a special outing; over her dainty hands, Farore wears soft green gloves. Over her dress is a translucent green hooded cloak which is kept clasped together jsut below her neck; the childlike Goddess keeps the hood down.
In her right hand, Farore carries an old fashioned, glowing green weighing scale. The two pans are always in balance, never once having shifted since the dawning of the Goddesses.
As like the other two, Farore wears a golden necklace with a golden trianlgle on the end. It's length is inbetween Nayru's an Din's
Anyway... that's how I view them. I liked how Each of them:
1. Have a golden necklace with a golden triangle on it
2. Are holding or wearing a relic which describes their title (Nayru is the Keeper so she wears binds, Din is the Forger so she holds a Hammer, Farore is the Juror, so she's holding scales similar to Justice)
3. Their eyes, although their respective color, are all an eerie clear type. Sort of makes them seem more supernatural"

Anyways, it was done in pen & pencil, then I added color through Photoshop.

I read maybe 70% of his comment. Umm... was it before or after you showed the pic to him?
Abyway, about the pic. XD It's great! My creativity is limited to what I draw, not HOW I draw it, so I'm always wowed by unique art ideas, like outlines of certain colors. :3 Each one turned out beautifully, and I especially love Sin's face: I have so much trouble with profile views.

Heh, Din, Nayru, and Farore, I remember those three goddesses from Ocarina of Time (bloody, greatest game ever >_> ), nice drawing, I like it how you've sketched them using only one colour to represent who they are, although.. Din, Nayru, and Farore, isn't one of 'em s'posed to be yellow? I believe that's Farore, then again, I'm probably wrong and just can't remember >_>, nice piece.
