Description Note: Chuck is officially DECEASED due to the burning down of the tower. He is free to be a cameo ghost or hallucination for those of you that met him, but he won't be available for anymore combat, sadly.
========================

Charles "Chuck" Addams
Age: 41 (DECEASED)
Height/Weight: 253lbs / 6'8
Hometown/Region: Mistralton City, Unova
Military Faction: Air Force
Extra items: Flare gun with a single flare, wallet with vast amount of folded pictures of his sons, a Wailmer water pail, few dozen jars of Moo Moo Manure, and an airplane shaped spoon.

Personality:
Being 6'8" is pretty much the first thing people notice about Chuck, which kinda pisses him off. He has a "light case" of insomnia, where he gets maybe 2 to 3 hours sleep a night, but he doesn't let it slow him down. Really, his lack of sleep hardens him and keeps him in a near constant state of old man "you kids get off my lawn" type grumpiness.
Ever since his divorce he has had a bad taste of women, so he'll normally act very bitter towards them, often times just giving them a cold glare as a response for anything. He doesn't support the fact that women have been allowed to enlist, despite his mother being a pilot herself, and sees them as weak and manipulative.
While he is not stupid, Chuck is a bit dense, though some might even go as far to say naive. For some reason, he can never really tell when a woman is posing as a man, and he doubley can't tell a homosexual from any other man. He is quite the humble person though, and would rather pass a praise over to someone else rather than let himself be brought into the spotlight.
The twin boys he left back in Mistralton are his life and the main reasoning to even help fight in the war. He loves children, even those younger looking lads who haven't but a hair on their chins, and he seems to enjoy acting like a father or uncle figure to them. However, joking and game playing are not parts of what he remembers the Military to be, and thus if you like to crack the joke or fool around, stay away from this grumpy giant.
Pokemon are an enigma to him; on the one hand he figures they can be helpful to win this war, but on the other he doesn't trust any of them by just their looks. In addition, he really can't help but admire, or is it fear, those superior officers who have to deal with three of these beast following them around.

History:
Chuck grew up being the eldest of three boys to a pilot mother and mechanic father just outside the Mistralton City air base. During the first Great War Chuck's mother left her husband and children to return to her roots and fight along side the Johto forces. She never returned. To make sure he could still support his three sons their father eventually had to take on more hours, leaving Chuck to raise his younger brothers.

Flash forward many years to a recently divorced Chuck, raising his twin boys while trying to maintain a military career. Sounds like a crappy sitcom, huh? Well, if only it could be so laughter-inducingly funny. Chuck's wife was a paranoid b*tch who seemingly lived to emmasculate her gentle giant husband. Really, he was happy to get rid of her, especially after he found out she had been physically abusing his sons.

Being an previous pilot in the Johto Military, where he didn't get to see much action due to the peace at the time, Chuck reinlisted as soon as he heard that the Military was looking for more pilots, experienced or otherwise. Luckily he had not lost his wings in the downtime, the berry farmers enjoyed his help crop-dusting their plantations. Everything seemed to work out perfectly, his sons would be taken care of by the elderly neighbor couple who wished him luck, and a warning to come back for his sons soon. The only problem being the incompitence of some lowely secretary who somehow couldn't find any Charles Addams having ever been enlisted prior. So, it was back to square one all over again. On the bright side, he'd need the extra training, seeing as in the time he'd been gone the Military had begun training with the monsters they called Pokemon.

Notes:
•Chuck can't resist talking about his sons, and loves to show pictures of them as children. It's really the only topic that can get him to talk.
•Oh, and if he does show you pictures of his sons, don't say anything other than how "cute" they are... he'll break you if you bad mouth his boys.
•"Pokemon are evil!" is the only thing he says if anyone asks him about Pokemon. Nothing more.
•Chuck never really learned how to swim.
•In addition to the note above, if he is submerged he will sink like a rock... especially when he panics.
•His military plane is called the Naughty Nanab and is noted with a painted on Nanab berry on its body and both wings.
•His crop-dusting plane resembles a Vickers Vildebeest model aircraft and is painted with a Tropius design.
•If I chose voice actor for Chuck, he'd probably be John Goodman.

POKEMON:
The E Team (Exeggutor)
Gender: Male
Nature: Docile
Ability: Chlorophyll
Item: None
Location Caught: In the Berry Forest of the Sevii Islands
Attacks: [Egg Bomb][Sleep Powder][Trick Room][Psychic]
Accessories/Clothes: I found a shop near the base that sold childrens toys where I was able to pick up 2 mini helmets, 1 doll-sized gas mask, and some Johto blue "war paint". The pokemon seemed to like them. None
Notable Markings: Depends on which egg you look at, one has black sclera and red eyes, another green eyes with a pink glow, and another has dark rings under its eyes. All of them have cracks on them, which are not always in the same place for some reason.

Chuck Notes:
John - The explosive Exeggcute of the group, both in ability and temperment. I see him as the leader of the brothers and I've noticed he has quite the voice on him. I heard a rumor that he actually ate the 2 Exeggcute missing from their group, but who knows if it's true.
Faceless - The calm, collected, and strategic Exeggcute who is shrouded in mystery behind a gas mask. Another rumor being passed around is that he wears the mask because his face under the mask has been broken away. I'm a little afraid to check though.
Bosco - This narcoleptic member of the collective is just that, pretty much always falling asleep no matter when we're in or out of battle. Oddly enough, his sleeping seems to... 'rejuvinate' the other members of the team. I'll have to ask my Sergeant about it next time we meet.
Murdock - Possibly the craziest little egg head thing I've ever seen, and the one I'm most afraid of. I don't know the full extent of his powers yet, but I SWEAR he understands me and is the one giving me headaches. I'm starting to have nightmares, in the little sleep I do get, of this one blowing my head up from the inside. *shudders*

Art Nuzarelli aka "The Nuz" (Nuzleaf)
Gender: Male
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Pickpocket
Item: None
Location Caught: In a large forest that Route 229 runs through.
Attacks: [Substitute][Razor Wind][Bullet Seed][Torment]
Accessories/Clothes: The Nuz wears a boys size small aviator jacket along with a pair of cool mint green shades.
Notable Markings: None to be seen... yet.

Chuck Notes:
Art Nuzarelli. Haven't thought of that arse in years, but as soon as I released this little guy, I couldn't help but think about the Mr. Popular I used to know back in school. Somehow, the leaf topped pokemon I was given seems like he could almost be the mans son in some odd alternate universe world where that would be possible. I haven't allowed him much time outside his ball prison, mainly because I'm still worried that he too will come to me in my dreams only to kill me. My superior officers, however, have informed me that I will not be receiving any co-pilot... well, HUMAN co-pilot anyways.
Turns out that the Nuzleaf is one of a few species that are very quick learners, so much so that the Air Force is going to be test-subjects for seeing just how fast they could learn even complex things. I am one of the luckier ones, apparently, as my sprout head was in the program for a little over a month, whereas others less fortunate are getting pokemon with a couple WEEKS training. I've been ordered to use Nuz in my next flight.

Audrine II (Lileep)
Gender: Male
Nature: Quirky
Ability: Suction Cups
Item: None
Location Caught: No clue?
Attacks: [Stockpile][Swallow][Gastro Acid][Mirror Coat]
Accessories/Clothes: None
Notable Markings:
-
Chuck Notes:
-

OLF (Zoroark)
Gender: Male
Nature: Hasty
Ability: Illusion
Item: Nine
Location Caught: Some forest?
Attacks: [Roar][Protect][Swagger][Detect]
Accessories/Clothes: A fanged band around his front left leg and an eye patch covering an injury he obtained prior to receiving him.
Notable Markings:
-
Chuck Notes:

Yeah... I hated doing it, but I couldn't keep up with Chuck.

Although I could see him as not REALLY being dead, just lying next to a sign in Ecruteak alive and scratching his ass, waiting for the battle to be over and then walking away into the sunset...

You might want to stick a note in here that Chuck is deceased as of sometime shortly after the tower was "struck by lightning" Other people don't know, and have been referencing him in stuff.

Since Chuck is helping out Mia after she crashes and is in her squad, can you give me any feedback on his attitude towards her in general? I see he is a bit bitter towards women and doesn't think they should be enlisting. And I imagine that might make him a bit more sour towards Mia because not only is she female, but she's not even 18 yet lol.

TheFiddleCat In reply to blueflyfish [2012-04-14 02:50:31 +0000 UTC]

Well, at first maybe. He's going to be pretty agitated about Mia initially, especially when she starts asking about the Hellcat and Gabriel has to give her instructions (I think I read that you two had that planned, right?). So Mia crashes and Chuck blames himself for her "death", causing him to go bat-shit and get reckless. He sends down Nuz to help after Mia is able to use Ellen's radio to make contact. By the time this is over though, I kinda pictured Mia and Chuck meeting up after, and without any reasoning he's gonna hug her... maybe even go all "daddy-mode" and lecture her too. Haha.

Look at it this way, in Chuck's mind the younger a woman/girl is, the less of a b**** she has yet to become, so Mia is getting to see a fairly nice Chuck.

blueflyfish In reply to TheFiddleCat [2012-04-14 05:18:02 +0000 UTC]

Well it's not really questions about the Hellcats, it's more she's just very very unsure/anxious/nervous about battle and Gabriel will be trying to reassure her. I imagine her anxiety may be pretty exasperating to Chuck.

Her main "trouble" with the hellcat will be adjusting to the difference in handling, and she can be self defeating in addition to that (and you know how that can create a feedback loop of destruction). That could be agitating to Chuck if he's familiar with Mia as a pilot at all, she's meant to be at least a decent pilot, and hellcats are supposed to be stupid easy to fly. (I mainly say that in contrast to some of the other air force characters, who have being a bad pilot as one of their characteristics).

I like the idea of potential future interactions, especially if it's some sort of funny gruff daddy mode sort of development. That could open a whole can of worms into both the personality quirks of Chuck and Mia.

Agreed on all points.

I really do wanna make it out of End Run with Chuck having SOME friends, though. Mia would be a very good candidate for the "daughter-I-never-had" award. Haha.

I finally find the time to look through all the johto air force apps and what do i find...? A fellow insomniac! The giant old grump will be a nice addition to the air force. Just hope he doesn't fall asleep during the wrong time fufufu... Also, I really like the way you designed your exeggcutes. Who knows what kind of chaos they could inflict with this many personalities...

Charles. Is. Awesome. There are only so many parents in this OCT and incapable of swimming. And plain awesome. Two if you disregard the awesome part then mine counts as well.

Poor Charles my heart goes for him. I personally need my 10+ hours to only function and he goes and sleeps only 2/3 hrs a night? Poor feller, I wonder if someone will dupe him up with drugs to make him rest and stop thinking about those evil little mutant eggs.

HEY! Maybe the lack of sleep actually does affect him?

TheFiddleCat In reply to Nen-kun [2012-01-15 22:40:35 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! Glad people are liking him. I was worried he'd be missed as there are a lot of applicants waiting for the last minute and most are pretty impressive in their own rights.

I actually want to portray that in my entries, that the lack of sleep DOES affect him. Though I do have some wonderful solutions for it later on... if I make it very far that is. You'll just have to watch and see.
