I did a test render of my newly refurbised Enterprise model. The render turned out looking really good and I touched it up with some phaser fancyness

When I was very young, I thought this ship looked ugly. I was accustomed to the curvaceous flowing lines of a Galaxy-Class. It took a while for the Constitution-Class to grow on me.

That's exactly the effect that i am striving to achieve in Daz right now with the phaser beams.

It was actually done in post-work, in Photoshop. Although it can be done in 3D renderers as well.
