Technically, the Twilight wasn't supposed to get involved in combat during the Dominion War.Β We're a medical research vessel, and as such, considered strictly "Hands Off."Β However, the GM presented me with a problem: an Akira Class was under assault by Jem Hadar fighters, about to be destroyed.Β I could simply fly away....or, load torpedo bays and blow them out of the stars, since they weren't expecting it.Β Β
Decisions, decisions....you can see the command decision I made!

I love the Defiant. However how would she stack up against a Soverign class ship. I know she defeat an Excelsior class but could she beat a Soverign?

Unusually for a Starfleet vessel, the USS Defiant has a cloaking device.

Mostly because it places the blame on their command, whilst still respecting them for trying to charge home on the battery ahead of them against an enfilade from both sides.

Just how big were the JemHadar fighters?
They`re definitely bigger than a Runabout and the Defiant but it looks like its as big as an Akira.

It's about 100 metres long. The Akira is much bigger, but in this scene, it's off by a couple of hundred metres.

Yupp. In DS9, not even the Defiant was given a real constant size. If a ship needed to look more intimidating, it was rendered bigger, and so on.
