Description
This is not the best reference sheet but to be honest I am just happy I am done. ^-^Also I am editing in her backstory so people can have more of a feel of her character. I will probably work with my DM and maybe try to post more stuff from our campaign. If you have any questions about the campaign’s world (or what I am even talking about) just ask! I love to talk about stuff so don’t be scared to bring anything up!
(also sorry for all the terrible grammar mistakes. I was making this really fast for dm and will maybe, eventually fix them)
Phiax’s Backstory:
Phiax Monie was born in one of the jungles of Zerzura near its border to the country of Krishna. She was born to a tribe of cats called the Whistling Caverns Clan. Her clan was led by a Tabaxi cursed from the Rift, which most other cultures call Tabaxi Lords. There are only a handful of Tabaxi Lords alive and curiously seem to only be males. They have the forms of very large panthers or leopards. Their offspring can only be more Tabaxi Lords, most of whom leave to lead their own clans when they reach maturity. Phiax’s clan’s Lord was named Forgotten Time (a name he earned from his extended lifespan) and his mate’s name was Proud Flame, a she-cat born to be one of the best warriors of her generation.
Phiax has two names, one “more regular name” she adopted after leaving her clan (Phiax Monie), and a second name, which is her tribal name (Flower in a Field). Phiax is the oldest child in her family. The second oldest is her younger sister, named Dust of Chalk, and the youngest are the twins named Twin Storm (boy) and Twin Branch (girl). Phiax’s parents are Opal Smoke (mom) and Fine Marble (dad). Her mother was from the Whistling Caverns Clan, but her father was from the Tumbling Thicket Clan. These clans are usually peaceful and are allies even though they live on opposite sides of Zerzura. Fine Marble was an ambassador for his clan and traveled all across Zerzura where he encountered many kinds of creatures on the way. After Opal Smoke and Fine Marble fell in love, he decided to settle down and have a family.
While living with the clan, Phiax made friends with a girl Tabaxi her age named Berry Bush. Phiax, Berry Bush, and the Tabaxi Lord’s sons played together all the time when they were children. The Lord had four sons (from oldest to youngest): Bold Fang, Thrill of Life, Hidden Stitch, and Eager Storm. The children loved to play in their jungle home and sometimes even went to the savannah near the country Krishna. Phiax and her friends enjoyed listening to her father’s tales of his travels and she hoped to one day go farther than even he had not dared to travel.
While still young, Forgotten Time had noticed a power in Phiax. She had a special connection with nature that was unusual in her tribe. The Lord remembered long ago when he had a teacher of his own. Being a Lord was not all it was cracked up to be, your kind didn’t know much about the Rift...actually no one knows much about the Rift. When a Tabaxi accepted him for who he was, he was happy. The Lord wanted to spread this happiness to a student of his own, so he took Phiax under his paw. She learned quickly and was happy to try to teach what she learned to her friends, though they could never do it right for some reason.
When Phiax was 14, she had gone off to see the savannah as she had usually done. She loved to watch the grasses wave in the wind and the small animals run between the patches of gold, making even more unique swaying patterns. Hidden Stitch decided to accompany her this time, though he never understood why Phiax loved the savannah since the jungle was fine for him. When they arrived though they were ambushed by human and dwarf hunters and captured. They then killed Hidden Stitch and were about to kill Phiax when the Lord came. He ferociously killed all the hunters and returned his son’s body to the clan to be buried. Phiax was never the same after watching one of her friends were murdered in front of her and so turned to her studies more when she had free time.
The Lord was also greatly affected by the death of one of his sons and so cut off most ties to the outside. He was less lively and more protective than he usually was, but he still led the clan wisely. He knew that the terrible event also disturbed Phiax and so continued teaching her about Druidism and its aspects but with more rigor.
Phiax now hated the other races. How could they have such wretched individuals exist? How could they have enough bloodthirsted to kill a child? Though she had these thoughts, her father’s stories still lingered in her thoughts. So many kinds of flora and fellow Tabaxi. Were there more past the savannah? She wanted to know more so, at the age of 19, she left her clan with a heavy heart. She went past the savannah to the country of Krishna, where she went to its heart city. The city was full of merchants and traders of different ethnicities and species. From what Phiax heard from her father, she guessed that many Tabaxi from Zerzura didn’t travel out of their home country often. Because of this, she decided to create and sell some woven baskets and other goods and charms from her native culture. The absence of these products in usual trade in Krishna made a large demand for her goods and so more people came to her small business.
Phiax had met lots of nice people, but of course a few bad apples. She had learned that not everyone was as evil as she had believed when back at the clan, but she knew the world was still corrupt. Greed was strong in the hearts of many and it controlled the world and all its inhabitants. Though after years of brooding hate, she was still untrustworthy when many of her customers at first. This caution had saved her life a few times over the past few years.
After doing this for 2 years she was beginning to get very tired of making the same things repeatedly. She decided to use some of her remaining goods to become a merchant and became more involved in trading. Her business never grew big enough that she needed to hire anyone, but she was ok with that. Phiax liked working alone because she would get to make her own decisions without having to negotiate with everyone in her own business.
She has been a merchant for years, moving from country to country. She doesn’t hide the fact she is a druid to anyone, even if she doesn’t wear druidic cloths much. People also gave her weird looks because she is a very tall Tabaxi, though, after years of these stares, they did not affect her anymore. Over the years she has been to a few countries around Krishna, but she still wants to explore more and one day return to her family and tell of her adventures.
One day was she traveling in the country of Krishna when she decided to stop and rest a night in her wagon. When she fell asleep she dreamt a dream, a vision, that would change the course of her travels.
