I honestly don't see what's so special that it called for a DD here. He's not doing anything epic nor even remotely sexy. It's just... Boring. What the hell is so special about this? You could buy Loki Cosplay pretty much ANYWHERE, it just feels like a lack of effort was put into this. Why DA? WHY?!!

Hi, I feel the urge to answer you as I'm the one who suggested the DD.Β
Set aside the fact that physical resemblance is almost unbelievable (at first I thought it was a fan art or something), what about the rest of the picture? Pose, attitude, expression, they all perfectly resemble Tom HIddleston portrayal in Avergers.Β
Sure, it doesn't have a background, but who cares? I think this is the case where it is useless because the pictures already has everything to be a nice one.Β

then you are who i direct my own disappointment with. this is an insipid piece that is badly photographed and poorly executed. the focus is not very good and only gets worse the longer it is looked at and the lighting does nothing to help hide the large quantities of makeup used. the cosplay may look something like the actor in costume but that does not make this worthy of a dd. this is a nice fan piece but it is not exceptional, it is not of a high quality, it is most certainly not and interesting piece, if this was anything other than a fan-piece this would not have gotten any accolade or attention. you are being a fanboy/girl first and formost and not bothering to even look at the quality of the image. shame on you

There are better things in life who are really worth worrying about than a daily deviation only you don't appreciate when clearly the rest of deviantart community does.Β

You fail to realize that an opinion has no base of truth, as it is simply a thought, a feeling, expressed through one's words. You continue to express your opinion without respect, or realization that it doesn't change a god forsaken thing. You also cannot tell the difference between constructive criticism and blatant rudeness.
Look, this is an art COMMUNITY. Not tenchibaka's personal museum. Got it? People here share what they love, and DDs are not always for the best of the best. Sometimes they are good for promotion as well. And if the piece was approved, that means it WAS worthy enough to the people that run this site. Which does not include you. Don't like it? Disappointed with your beloved art community? Then leave it and find another one less accepting and more petty, as that seems to be your preference. Shame on YOU for your tasteless criticism and shame on YOU for defending rudeness and ignorance, rather than simply going on your merry way and showing respect.

Your opinion is valid, you've a right to it, but this kind of commentary makes you look very petty.
FAQ #873: What do I do when I disapprove of a Daily Deviation feature?
I will not be removing this piece from the daily deviation selection. It breaks no site rules, and while you may believe it is all of the things you've claimed it to be, I personally do not feel it is so. Others in the set were very much sexualized, I wasn't in the market for an erotic Loki, I enjoyed this deviants entire gallery but I chose to feature this one. Next time you feel you need to run your mouth off in public, stop, consider, and follow the rules when it comes to disliking something which is featured.

Honestly, I may have a courtyard concept of what is nice, but I find this nice. I read the tons of critiques you did to this picture, but I didn't consider any of them enough toΒ call this a "flash-in-the-pan half-assed piece of junk".
Also, the whole point of DDs is to give some exposure to the artist, which happened, I see.
It's just disappointing how some users like you give such harsh words to the suggester/featurer/artist when the purpose of DDs is just to do something nice to others.Β

i was and i have actually had one taken down, i miss the days when every last piece was worth clicking and i felt proud suggesting dds to be added, these last three years however i have grown disenchanted. yes there are lovely works but as many pieces are not very good
the really funny thing is i did look at the deviant's gallery and i found a couple really nice pieces that would have made for good dds(sadly i do not know most of the fandoms)

That simply makes it your opinion. Just like the person/persons curating DDs has/have an opinion, and this was relevant to it. If you were to look at his gallery, you'd see that he DOES put effort into what he does. He's an excellent Loki cosplayer, and seems to enjoy what he does. No need to bash just because you disagree. It would come off so much better if you'd have chosen to critique respectfully.
