here's something I've been working on for a hot minute! I've been trying to keep these traits in mind while making designs so it's nice to get them down as a visual, and also for an opportunity to dump just a few more ideas

A few notes are that; Dragons often share a lot of elemental traits with their opposite element, there's not really any gender specific traits with dragons, and there's very few 'pure' elemental dragons left. Most modern dragons are going to have a mish-mash of traits from various different elements depending on their family. Ice dragons are of course the ones with the most 'pure' elemental dragons left, but as it usually goes they're also some of the biggest breakers of these 'pure elemental' rules. Traits from most common to most rare go as follows; fire, ice, earth, electricity, wind, shadow, poison, fear, water.

also you might notice ice dragons are on their own here, technically water dragons were the original elemental form, but eventually there was a mutation in water dragons living around the arctic ice caps leading to the first ice dragons. They're now the more common form of their element now as most water dragons tend to keep under water to themselves.

also some elemental traits can benefit dragons of their own element, it's more obvious with things like water dragons gills or fins, but there are a few other examples. The 'heat pits' on fire dragons snouts can actually bellow out flames, this can also be done with shadow dragons 'flames', the rare ice fire version of the ice element, and sometimes even wind dragons can puff some winds out of these. Electric and wind dragons spines on their backs often have a metallic texture and can be used as built in lightning rods. and lastly of course poison dragons fangs and pincers are often venomous.
