Description
Exploring some merfolk (like my earlier goblins) for a personal project ... skin tones vary by climate / habitat ... in theory so would the color of their clothing, if they were wearing any.If this needs to be tagged "Mature Content" for non-human nudity, I would appreciate it if someone would let me know.
I've had these on the back burner for a while, but with the whole "Mer-May" thing going on, it seemed like a good time to post something ...

Superb designs, I never liked how human the top half of a merperson looks with mammalian skin and hair but adding fish scales and fins is really appropriate.

I agree; most of the time when I take on one of these mythological / hybrid races or creatures, I try to give them a more unified / less-piecemeal look (like I attempted with my harpies .
That being said I couldn't quite give up the idea of "hair," although in my imagination it's actually extremely fine anemone-like tentacles, rather than proper hair. The look is essentially the same, but that helped justify it in my head. For the males, instead of body hair, they may have scale patterns in analogous places.

That's good thinking, interesting design choices.
