Description
Here's a few SDCC sketches I did last week at the show. This is a piece done for a fan who asked me to draw one of his characters, and this is the result. Had some fun with it!
Drawn on textured red cardstock with pen, Copic markers, and white pencil.

This is still one of my top 2 fave pieces from Comic-Con. Just amazing what you did with the character. She looks absolutely beautiful.
And might I say, you have a very pretty thumbnail.

Again, I'm loving how these are turning out. I love how the personality of the pic is influenced by the different color of the surface you're drawing on.
But without going in to all of that again, I like how the drawing itself came out. The shapes of the figure look great, but I really like her expression. It feels like she sees someone trying to be intimidating and menacing and threatening, but she's very unimpressed with her bored, unfazed, slightly condescending look. Like, she was putting on her gloves or something, and the off-panel threat is so insignificant and she's so confident in herself that she doesn't bother to react.
I like how her features are drawn, like her lips and ears. The lips look very lifelike in how they "branch off" from the face. They aren't just a set of lips pasted on a face, and they aren't just a line cutting into the same plane of the face. I like how the dimensions of them branching off look very lifelike and believable. I like the details on the elfy ears, too.
And, I think her tummy looks very well drawn, too. o_O XD And I love the sharing on her hair and on her gloves and the meager other elements of her outfit. And the more subtle shading on her skin. Everything works wonderfully to create very believable dimensions and realistic-feeling shapes.
Very cool.
