One of the things I hate is when SJWs try to be politically correct and label all minorities "people of color." For this, I think is wrong because we are more than people of color. We are Native Americians, Asian Pacific Islanders, Hispanics, and Blacks. They try to say that it keeps "cultural appropriation at bay." Well, as a minority, I find this term above all insulting and derogatory. I mean, this was a term used by people in the sixties to segregate Blacks from whites. Why are the SJWs bring this term bacK?

Why is "people of color" considered "acceptable," when the term "colored" has actually been offensive before? (what with the Jim Crow laws segregating whites from blacks via "white" and "colored")

I saw an image depicting that term, and it indicated that if the term were taken literally, then it would mean white people are the true people of color. It pointed out how whites are generally the ones who have natural red or blonde hair and natural green, blue, or grey eyes, as well as pink lips, while non-whites usually have naturally dark hair, eyes, and skin.

Yeah, if I meet someone I usually refer to them as their nationality/dominant blood line. Always have. If I meet a Malaysian I will say I have a Malaysian friend.

It may be different than saying "colored," but to be honest I find the term stupid and I'm half-Vietnamese. Even whites have variations in skin tone like black people do, so what does that make them? People of monochrome? Better throw in the African-Americans as well if we're going for "color accuracy" or crap.

'People of colour' implies that white is the normality and the rest is weird or unique. I call black people 'black'. Black is a colour and colours are neutral.
