Yes, separation of church and state exists. In a theocracy, minorities are discriminated against. If you want a theocracy so badly, or don't like the separation of church and state, they you're free to move to Iran.
Don't like that very much? Then stop trying to force your religion into the government.

Insofar as the government does not and cannot establish an official religion. Beyond that religion plays as much a part in political decision-making as any other aspect of an individual's personality. For some, quite a bit, for others, not at all or very little.

They should change the pledge of allegiance back to it's original form, without the "Under God" part.

The thing is that I think a lot of those folks would be perfectly happy to have Iran's form of government - so long as it was run by Christians.

Yanno, when I was growing up, I thought almost as an article of faith that it was settled that democracy is the best form of government and everyone believes in it. As I've gotten older, I've realized that's not really true. Although just about everyone in the US gives lipservice to democracy, there are a fair number of people who don't really believe in its principles. I think there are even more people who don't fully understand those principles or their consequences. A lot of people seem to think that democracy means, "Well, we just have to find a way to win elections and then we get to do whatever we want." That's not democracy. Democracy means rule by the people - all of the people. Including the people we don't agree with or even like. Democracy means that everyone gets a seat at the table, and no one gets to unilaterally impose their will on everyone else. It means governing through compromise and consensus.

Yeah, still, it's government is corrupt, and pretty much is run by juntas and cartels, as well as they are freckless when dealing with the economy or their people.

If you're talking about religion in general, shouldn't 'Clergy' me more correct? Church is Christian only.

It was very nice. When I was eating at a Mexican restaurant that was on the river walk, I saw a drunk guy fell down the stairs. It was funny
