Simple. You don't have to agree with me politically in order for us to be friends. If you make good art, you're a nice person, we find good conversation, then we can be friends
Trust me, this identity politics has divided our county more than mended it, and people are turning on each other just because someone doesn't agree with them politically.
But still, I don't care about your political affiliation, as long as you're a nice person, then we can be friends

I agree! It's ok to disagree but we shouldn't be jerks to each other. As a Christian, I do my best to love people and to be at peace with them. Fighting over stuff is useless. It get us nowhere. We need to be united, not divided.

I'm used to it. My family is politically diverse, even going to both extremes (I even had a fascist uncle and I have a communist aunt. My fascist uncle died when I was two, so I don't know much him, but I get along with my communist aunt, my parents and I are right winged while my brother is an anarchist, so...)

I honestly believe the onus is on american conservatives to fix their own mess. Until their party stops being hijacked by young earth creationists with christian taliban belief systems, it's an irrepairable mess and rightfully a laughing stock.
I'm not surprised. White nationalists/alt-lighters/social conservatives have virtually no moral standard other than "I hate the left and mistrust everything that doesn't fit my narrative".
