Description did a really cool version of Superman that I got a chance to color. It was interesting seeing how my colors would play over someone else's direction. It was daunting, but then again, it was my first time laying colors over someone else.

I might have to do this again=]

pencils for this image here [link]

Edit: so the outpouring of support and comments about my first try at coloring someone elses work has been so phenomenal and beautiful and I thank you all for it! I've made some changes, adding more of a yellow hue to the background, blurring the entire background and then the middle ground i blurred even more and heightened the saturation of Kal-el's costume..... it definitely helps to pop him out I think, thanks everyone who has taken the time to help me out!

It's the super-tastic Superman! Awesome (or dynamic) pose like this truly defines the world's well known superhero! Now after some thinking, I could imagine how this image will turn out in 3D.
Super work you guys!

I think you could add some highlights to his face and neck. Right now, his skin feels too dark. I was thinking adding a hint of pink to give it a more natural tone, but I think the highlights could accomplish the same goal. Perhaps play around and see what fits.

Also, the far hand (his right) looks too pink compared to the rest of his flesh.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

thelearningcurv In reply to NexusDX [2009-07-23 01:49:16 +0000 UTC]

whats funny is I don't remember using different tones for that hand, but now that you mention it, i looked it voer and i think you may be right.... gotta go check that hand out and see about maybe some gradations for that "highlight" look, that was something i was conflicted about, but you're absolutely right.... blah lol

rss? whats that

krissthebliss In reply to thelearningcurv [2009-07-24 14:16:04 +0000 UTC]

RSS (most commonly translated as "Really Simple Syndication" but sometimes "Rich Site Summary") is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated worksβ€”such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and videoβ€”in a standardized format.[2] An RSS document (which is called a "feed", "web feed",[3] or "channel") includes full or summarized text, plus metadata such as publishing dates and authorship. Web feeds benefit publishers by letting them syndicate content automatically. They benefit readers who want to subscribe to timely updates from favored websites or to aggregate feeds from many sites into one place. RSS feeds can be read using software called an "RSS reader", "feed reader", or "aggregator", which can be web-based, desktop-based, or mobile-device-based. A standardized XML file format allows the information to be published once and viewed by many different programs. The user subscribes to a feed by entering into the reader the feed's URI – often referred to informally as a "URL" (uniform resource locator), although technically the two terms are not exactly synonymous – or by clicking an RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The RSS reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new work, downloads any updates that it finds, and provides a user interface to monitor and read the feeds.

I wiki it heheheheh.. heres the link on my webcomic
