This is an edit of this: ricochet188.deviantart.com/art⦠. There were a number of issues that had been bothering me since I finished it a few years ago but at the time I didn't know how to fix them.Related content

I love this whole "series" with the Humanoid Oil Slick and his damaged companion. Consider doing light novels or comics?

Much improved from the earlier piece. I really like this, although I am not familiar with the meaning of the scene.

Fucking unbelievable. You still gotta make that art book I mentioned ages ago! I'd still definitely buy it and would totally recommend it to all the other artist lovers in Melbourne.

You know, the more often I see those two, the more I want to hear the whole story. It seems pretty completely thought-through and I die to find out what kind of... thing the black one is.

I'm still working on the story but the gist is that some 150 to 200 years ago a group of scientists and physicists n whatnot got together as the planet was slowly deteriorating, to build a self generating lifeform which could house the mind and memories of a human being. This initiative was meant to perserve a part of the human race that could survive and thrive in the coming wastes and rebuild/rekindle what remained. Maybe 5 to 10 000 participants were placed in pods in bunkers in various places in Europe and Asia. These pods would facilitate the process of merging their minds and bodies with this new bio mechanical material. This process takes around 100 years or so.
The protagonist of this story wakes up from his pod and finds that everyone else is gone, the bunker is torn up and it looks like it's been that way for a long time. There is no evidence as to where anyone is. He's glad, because to be honest when he was presented with the opportunity to be a part of the initiative he did it to escape the life he was living, all he really wanted was to be alone, away from those who hurt him and those he hurt.
As he wanders in the barren landscapes he finds himself becoming lonely, purposeless. He begins to track down a variety of sos radio signals sporadically popping up at odd intervals and different locations. He eventually comes across an old android (more advanced than he was familiar with when he was put into his pod so many years ago) He learns that this machine had been hunting down other synthetic life forms and consuming their power sources to sustain herself. When she would do this the machines send out a distress signal which he picked up on, but now she is spent and is releasing her own distress signal.
This picture doesn't show the moment, but when he finds her and sees her face, he is stunned because he recognizes her (maybe he recognizes her as his daughter or wife or someone significant I don't know yet) and in this moment she attacks him and basically knocks him out with her last bits of energy. She tries to get some energy from him but can't because he's not like any machine she's encountered before. So she sits there. Then he wakes up and blablah they go off together or something.
