Description Another perspective...

I kind of like this perspective. It really does just look 'wrong'!

Ouch... Very, very ouch! How did that happen?

I'm guessing it was a track maintenance issue. We Americans can't seem to be able to justify repairing anything until it breaks...

If you look at our bridges and other infrastructure, you'd think we were a third-world country...

LOL, I have to pay attention to that next time I'm there! Though the roads around NY were not much better than in Budapest, and we've got some of the lousiest roads...

It's not often you get to see this cause (understandably) they hush it up.
Nice shot

too funny.

i work for csx (as a clerk).

generally, it's not the engines at fault but the company's refusal to maintain tracks.

Thanks!

I'm aware of that, but (in the spirit of Thomas the Tank Engine - which I watched with my kids when they were young) I thought I'd have a little fun!

I'd blame it on the spring thaw that allows the spikes to slip out of the rotted ties! (See my other derailment photos for more on this subject.)

you should look at [link] . some hilarious stuff there.

plus, i submitted some photos of a recent, very messy derailment at our local yard, where a loaded coal train had four cars overturn, plus another two fall against the lead engine of another train.

Thanks for the link!

I live about 75 feet up a steep hill from the CSX West Shore Line. We recently had an incident where a local woman parked her vehicle a little too close to the tracks (at our local Hudson River waterfront park) and it was clipped by a train. Caused quite the stir in our community. See: [link]

car accidents and suicides are highly common. sadly, some people either forget or don't realize that trains are significantly wider than rails. the woman was very, very lucky.

Yes, and most of the people on the scene who got angry because the train blocked their egress had no concept either...
