I could easily do a black and white version. I gave it the blue hue to emphasize being alone (as blue commonly represents coldness).

I was actually depressed that night and wanted to take some pictures that conveyed being "exposed" and alone. Nothing tricky about it, I used my reading lamp for the lighting and had it shine partially on me, with the rest reflecting off of the wall (which was white). So it really was an easy shot, just a matter of positioning myself before the timer went off.
