Description

The Prodigy-class is a class of 32 light cruisers which served the Elipian Royal Navy during and beyond the Great War. First commissioned in 1942, and continued to serve in the Royal Navy until 1980, and further in several other navies.

The Prodigy-class is a subclass of the earlier Majestic-class light cruisers featuring an engine redesign, increased cruising range, torpedo protection, radar and anti-aircraft suite, and additional 127mm secondaries at the cost of one of the 160mm turrets.

The Prodigy served as the Navy's preferred cruiser, with each gun capable of hurling 10 rounds per minute compared to the Magnificent-class heavy cruisers' 3 rounds per minute and the Cavalier-class heavy cruisers' 2 rounds per minute. Unfortunately, despite all of its praise, the ship has many shortcomings, one of which being its top-heavy nature, often rolling dangerously at sea.

In order to solve the top-heavy weight, some ships did away with the rangefinder on the A turret, some did away with the catapult, others removed the torpedoes, seeing as cruiser captains rarely used them properly, often electing to fire all of them off before entering combat range in order to avoid a repeat of HMS Bulwark, where the torpedo launchers were struct and detonated by enemy fire, resulting in the ship being severed in half.

I have 3 more Elipian cruisers more or less ready (the aforementioned Magnificent and Cavalier-class heavy cruisers, plus another light cruiser), plus a redo of the Prinz whose model was so messy that I could salvage nothing from the original file.

Also fixed the 40mm guns I used, while the guns themselves were fine, the mount was half the size of the real one, so pretend the original cruiser had half as many guns as the description says it does.

As for basis, original was the Brooklyn/St. Louis, current includes Cleveland/Fargo, plus the Alabama for the super structure and the camo before finding out it's the Measure 12 camo, i think. I hope you like the superstructure, cause three of the four Elipian cruisers are using a derivative of it.

10 rounds per second?  That seems high.  Other wise a cool design.

You state that your guns are capable of firing 10 rounds per second that's 600 rounds per minute.
