Hi guys!! I'm super excited to share this piece with you. This is something I wasΒ working on in the month of April, an original character inspired by Chinese lore, Xuan Wu. If you are interested, I've written down her background here goo.gl/tBKqCGIt's been at least 10 years since I last created an original character, it felt really accomplishing to be back at it.
It started with little silhouette thumbnails for brainstorming, then to grey scale details in the silhouettes, then to color experimentation and to final form.
I had a ton of fun doing this. Will design the other 4 gods in the lore as well!

I love the snake form one! 
But stunning work I love the way you designed her! Even the way you designed the snakes themselves is very interesting. I like the horn and their markings a lot. The ice like shards are also very well done, they add a nice element to her, makes her harsher looking. The outfit is stunning, I love how flowy (if that's a word lol) it is!
The tortoise one is also fantastically done! I love how creative your were by using the clothes to be shell like, gives her some lovely originality and over all just makes her look great. The more water like ice is also a very nice touch as it softens her compared to the counterpart. Great work again! I look forward to the rest of your art
