I looked through your gallery, but didn't see any colored pencil work. Do you have any of your colored pencil art online? I would love to see it! (I really like your gallery btw )

I have a question,
when you finish a colored pencil art, do you notice the graininess of it?

I mean, It always ruins the picture for me. .___.

Do you know if other people see it?

theotherfuchikoma In reply to CakexChan [2011-02-22 02:34:03 +0000 UTC]

i don't see it when i color. sometime after i finish coloring i take a paper towel and rub it over the parts i color to get some of that excess color off. not sure if that will help though.

My kind of tut! CRAYOLA ALL THE WAY! I like your coloring style, it looks well blended at the end, but this tut makes me appreciate your step by step process. Well done and thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm going to try your coloring method... in like 5 minutes. xD

Just curious, when you color, do you do it in any particular way? I mean like, do you lay down color by coloring in circles (like scribbling) or just doing lines? I've seen other people point out different methods and I was just curious how you do it.

I put circles where my light source will be then I just go from there.

theotherfuchikoma In reply to Kr0wnnn [2009-08-18 16:45:19 +0000 UTC]

Does the way you color make a difference? Do you color in circles, follow the shape of the face? Or do you just color up and down?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

theotherfuchikoma In reply to yeahgirl11 [2009-03-03 04:18:21 +0000 UTC]

i try to keep it consitent to the light source

yeahgirl11 In reply to theotherfuchikoma [2009-03-03 04:27:33 +0000 UTC]

Oh, so you follow the shape of the highlights and such? Because sometimes when I color, it looks like wood or something.

I love this tutorial but prisma color or not I always have a problem with the pencil hitting ink lines and leaving an ugly color and my pencils don't blend very well. But I'm still practicing. X3~ hopefully I'll get better. X3~

Crayola. Inexpensive and still great.
I have a set of prismacolors but they're just waaay to thick and I'm not fond of them. They're oily, too. :[
Nice tut!
