Description
On the 23rd of March a massive shootout involving no less than fifty men spilled out onto the early morning streets of Sacramento. The firefight lasted several hours and was at last brought under control through the intervention of local law enforcement, reinforced by NCR troopers. As the dust settled, the consequences of the skirmish was only just beginning to be felt. In only a few brief weeks, the meager spark light by two rival brahmin Ranchers, had turned into a blazing wildfire, igniting the entire northern territories of the Republic in what would come to be known as "The Baron's War".

Wealthy Ranchers and Barons began pitting their private army's of mercenaries against one another,while using their wealth and political clout to evaded prosecution. As the north dissolved into a warzone, the ever fragile food supply in which the Republic had relied upon began to buckle and ultimately threatened to shatter. Hastily, an Emergency Council was formed,comprised of political heads of state and chief military personnel with the sole task of ending the conflict. But even when united in the common goal of survival, Infighting quickly griped the Council. Rapidly, possible solutions of all kinds were presented and just as rapidly rejected, as the early sighs of starvation began to move inward from the distant frontier settlement, threatening to consume the major urban centers of the NCR. With the Arizona front effectively stabilized and deciding that no more time could be spared, military leader over stepped the council all together and acted of their own accord. With General Alexander Drummund's approval they sought to form Military police units out of the conscripts and off duty troopers originally intend to fight on the front lines, the plan was simple, fight fire with fire, employing a no-nonsense heavy handed approach to quell the upstart
brahmin Barons.

What followed was two weeks of bloody and brutal fighting in almost every major settlement from the City of Stockton in the south to Redding in the North, as NCR troopers effectively seized all property belonging to the traitorous Baron's. Realizing their loss many of these Barons simply packed up everything they could and fled north to New Reno in what came to be call the "Exodus of Wealth". The land seized by the Military would ultimately be given to the Ranchers whom had been deemed loyal, by not engaging in the conflict. With law and order restored, much need provisions had began to reach starving communities all across the NCR, staving off what would likely have turned into a full out civil war.
