Description Semi-Automatic rifles are a good way to increase firepower of infantry. No need for manual reloading every shot is good.
Mariosania had struggled with Semi-Automatic Rifles for a long time, 30 years.
First attempt was in 1909 with modification of their Pattern 92 rifles, During ww1 Mariosania would buy Winchester 1907 rifles and French RSC 1917, then Pattern 1918 was experimented with.
After ww1, Mariosania bought more RSC 1917 and converted them to 7.92mm designated Karabin Samopowtarzalny 7.92mm Wz17/25
During interwar period couple more designes were proposed, such as almost successfull Pattern 23, but ultimately no satisfactory rifle was reached.
Somewhere in 30s, Mariosanian army issued a specyfication list for a semi-automatic rifle.
In 1934, Franciszek Tatrzak designed a rile and his copmany Tatrzak Arms Company developed it, that would ultimately become Pattern 39 was created.
Chambered in standard cartridge and fed by 10 or 15 round detachable box magazine.
For next 5 years, the design was imroved (Some things were ordered by the army) and production line was prepared.
The rifle got adopted by the army in 1939, even after objection from William Ordburski who belived classical bolt-action rifles were superrior.
First batch of about 10 000 rifles was ready by outbreak of the war, and during the war it was mass-produced in large numbers.
Even with imported SVT-40 and SKS rifles, the Pattern 39 was the service rifle after end of ww2.
It was the standard rifle of Mariosanian army untill it was replaced by Kalashnikov in the 50s.
