Description
With the success of the Calibur Sword Rifle, civilian industries found themselves using the weapon for industrial use such as mining, salvaging, and shipbreaking. Eventually, a version of the Calibur was made for industrial purposes. Commonly known as the "Beam Calibur", this civilianized version features a Bionic Beam Cutter that is strong enough to melt hard surfaces at a distance. The Beam can either fire as a single shot or can be fired continuously although it would lead to overheating from the latter. Each Beam Calibur comes with a precision locator so the user can make accurate beam placements.Like the original Calibur, the Beam Calibur also has a Sword Bayonet that can be used for cutting materials up close when the blade is ignited with Bionic Energy.
Eventually, the Beam Calibur found itself being used as weapons thanks to it's Beam Cutter function. Freelancer groups would use the Beam Calibur as an improvised sniper weapon to pick off enemies from a distance. Members of the Avalon Labor Corps retain their Beam Caliburs for use within the Avalon Rangers as actual firearms are hard to come by for the new freelancer company.

Notes:
This is actually the original design of my sword rifle before I decided to change that design by cutting off the rail gun muzzle. I repurposed the original design for a version made for industrial work use. Its function would be similar to the multi tools you see in the video game, No Man's Sky. I imagine that as an improvised weapon, its kinda like the Beam Rifle from the Halo games., just with a big sword attached to it.
