This month's pick-your-poison theme was "play it again, son!"-- This entailed selecting one of my patreon-voted pieces from the past year or so to be redone from the ground up!
So, here's the result. This one's a remake of Cascade!

I had super mixed feelings about the last version, so it was neat to reevaluate it and make it more interesting.
Seeing as the first was based off of Tycho's song "Cascade", I revisited the track again, and tried to make something that better evoked the feeling of the song. Truth be told, I didn't have a background in mind for the last piece, and just sort of winged it. Uboa's trap room was iconic and simple, so I figured it would do. However, Cascade always brought to mind images of the Yume Nikki as a whole, so I attempted to make something that could reference multiple areas at once.

The older I get-- and believe me, I am ancient in internet years-- The more Yume Nikki resonates with me. Don't get me wrong, I've always loved this weird little game, but its images don't sit with me the same way they did when I first played it. It's become so much more emotional to me, and a lot more unnerving. I don't know why this is or how to explain it. All the same, it's still such a nice game to exist within, and I still love walking through its various dreamscapes. Crazy to think that its almost 20 years old.
