Athena was pressured by her mother constantly to act and behave in a way her mother expected, this led to her childhood being dominated by stress and fear of her mother. The lingering stress did not make her a good Queen, she sought comfort in everything, she was lazy and never made changes to the Kingdom, despite the Kingdom drastically needing them.

Eventually this laziness led to her younger sister Narcissa, who was her mother's favourite, taking the wand from her, as Narcissa thought she could do a better job as Queen. Of course, the Royal Guard chased Narcissa out of the castle and kingdom, but she took the wand with her.

Guilt over this dominated the rest of Athena's life, as well as the lives of her other sisters as they all grew apart. Athena would give birth to her only heiress, Trincula, who never touched the wand and said wand would remain missing until being reclaimed by her granddaughter, Potentia the Tyrant.
