Description
A staple ship of the human fleet, the Thunderchild class has been in service for almost 100 years as a patrol ship. While it is capable of flying in atmosphere (though not well) it is primarily a space based platform. Most don't even have landing gear. Its warp drive is no where near powerful enough to move faster then light, instead it is used to both increase propellent efficiency, and as inertial damping by "spiking" the gravity in the opposite direction. In order to be delivered to a battle field, it is transported by the massive Stormcarrier class.

It is armed with two sandblaster cannons. Sandblaster cannons are basically Coilguns but they shoot small, approximately marble-sized, projectiles to a measurable fraction of c. These rapidly firing guns shred almost anything due to the extreme amount of projectiles. There is also 4 chain guns mounted on arms allowing for 360 degree range of fire. It also has around 40 missiles, though they are relatively short range compared to their sandblasters cannons.

Each squadron has their own paint scheme came up by the crew to differentiate them from the thousands of ships in the fleet. The ship has a crew of 5, as most of the ships systems are automated.
