Keep in mind that I'm a Photoshop user and the interface of this program is fairly new to me as well. This tutorial is going to encompass how to ink (outline) and perform basic coloring and shading in GIMP.This first part is mainly for introducing the tools that are going to be used. These are only basic descriptions of the tools and where to find them; more about what they do and how they will be used will be covered in the next few parts. Feel free to ask questions or make suggestions

Tutorials are pretty much directions on how to do something in steps. My suggestion to you would be, depending on what tutorial you're planning to make, have a huge document to work with, plan out what you want to make a tutorial on, then make steps and visual aids depending on how you wish to set it up.
The key part is planning.

I used the program Quick Screen Capture to get screenshots of stuff on my computer screen. Then I used Photoshop to put the screenshots together with text and stuff.

If you have photoshop then honestly, You dont need GIMP. Photoshop has way more features, I want photoshop, GIMP is good but photoshop is best.. But photoshop is too expensive

Have you considered getting Adobe Photoshop Elements? That's a cheaper version of Photoshop.

It looks to be in the ball park of 80-90$. There's several versions of Elements. I found links to two of the more current versions of the program.
