Description
For those of you who don't know, this is where I work - as a mechanic at the Morristown & Erie Railway in Morristown, NJ. These are our two main locomotives (#19 and #18), ALCO C424's built in 1964 for the Toledo, Peoria & Western Railroad and bought by the M&E in 1984.Here they both are this morning (February 17, 2012), idling away as engineer John and conductor Barry complete the cab signal test before heading out onto NJ Transit tracks to access some of our other branch lines.
My lunch break is over, so I've gotta get back to work! Today's project: disassembling and cleaning the parts of a set of former Southern Railway passenger car trucks.
