Description
For those who don't get it: Zi-O's belt shouts "RIDER TIME!" when he transforms. And also he's themed on watches.
I'm pretty hype for Zi-O. The only thing marring that and making me any more hype is knowing the writer for this worked on Ninninger. And Ninninger wasn't very good. But I'm hoping the rest of the crew - director, producer etc. - helps make up for it. And perhaps that writer will be able to do a better job this time.

I'm not entirely familiar with those names, so I had to do some research. I know Kento was head writer of Ninninger, Shinichiro is the guy who fucked up Hibiki and Shoji wrote the awful Super Hero Taisen films. But I don't know what Toshiki and Takuro did that's so terrible. Can you fill me in?

Didn't Takuro get called off of Ghost a lot to work on Amazons? Or is that wrong? I remember reading something to that effect, but since that was on TV Tropes, I don't that as a reliable source.

But that's interesting to me, because it's odd that Toei would bank so hard on Amazons, which was a very untested and risky product due to being an Amazon-exclusive thing with a dark and violent tone, over Ghost which adhered closer to their more tried and true productions. Do you suppose that, if a more competent creator had been put in charge and if Amazons hadn't bitten a massive chunk out of the budget, then Ghost might have been better off for it?

Okay, but hang on. I think I found the light at the end of this tunnel. Kento did write Ninninger, yes, but he also did Kamen Sentai Gorider, which was very well received, especially where the characterization and use of past Riders was concerned. So I can see why Toei would want to give him another chance. Let's just hope his writing is on par with Gorider this time, and not with Ninninnger.

I honestly dont like the look of zi-o
his suit looks kinda like a fusion of double and build and his driver looks strange. He spins the thing around to transform? Really?
And seriously? We have another rider who uses the abilities of all the riders before him?
That was the point of decade. He should be the only rider to have that ability. I get riders like ex-aid and build because the gashats and fullbottles EMMULATE the powers but another rider who can use their abilities?

I'm going to disagree a lot with what you've said here. Especially the "only Decade gets to use the abilities of past Riders". It's an anniversary show, so of course Zi-O is going to be able to do that, because that's one of the better ways to do an anniversary season. There's no need or reason to preseve Decade's special snowflake status in any way, especially for something that is supposedly celebrating the 20 Heisei Riders, the end of the Heisei era and Kamen Rider in general.

I do have to agree that decade sucks. I like his belt and his powers but not the show in general
i honestly thought i heard that build was going to celebrate the end of the hesei era
meh, maybe im being a bit harsh. I mean, i didnt like the look of ex-aid at first and then i loved the show so ill give it a look when it starts
if i am honest, i lIKE the suit, even if i think it looks weird.
I think what annoyed me is the fact that there are now loads of riders with this ability to tap into previous riders.
Ghost, ex-aid, giam, wizard and now Zi-o?
I was kinda hoping they;d bring ganbarider into the spotlight as a show. Now that would be cool

I think you must have heard wrong, friend. There was always gonna be one more Heisei rider after Build, and it was safe to say that was the one celebrating the end of it, since the new era hasn't had a name yet.
Also the thing is, all the Legend Rider stuff, which is what I think you're talking about, was all supplementary material. It wasn't the focus of what the Riders could do, and Legend Rider toys have always been a thing since Decade started it. This is the first time in approx. ten years we're having a Rider who's main gimmick is Legend Rider forms. So I have no idea where you're annoyance is coming from.
In all fairness, though, it's a bit silly to bicker like this over a show that isn't even out yet. Let's wait and see if the actual show itself impresses or disappoints when it comes out.

Actually apparently the new ear is going back to the showa form.
I guess what the annoyance boils down to is that now it seemed lately every show is jsut using legend riders as some form of gimmick for either a movie or a special episode.
Karen rider fifteen in Giam had a special Lockseed that could turn him into all the Hesse Karen riders
ghost had eyecons that used the hesei riders
ex-aid had kuroto dan making gas hats for all the hesei riders
wizard had rider rings to summon riders
build could use their forms with certain fullbottles (although only ex-aids was shown)
Yeah like you said, wait and see what its like
and honestly, i didnt view this as bickering. Its nice to be able to discuss a show i like to watch with someone else who watches it
