I like the effect created by the messy hair with the feral eye underneath. The picture certainly achieves it's intended threatening effect.
A few suggestions:
The character's too static. The creature's supposed to be advancing from your description, or at last interacting with some unseen character. As it is, he's sort of just posing with his axes and armor, but for all I know, he could be bored or even worse...blank. This picture would have really earned some badass points if you had the thing advancing in some way, towards the viewer. It's a good picture, but honestly, there's nothing there to draw my attention to it. I mean, I'm one to talk because I just recently realised that my stuff's too static as well.
Also, add more detail to the skin. It sorta just sems doughy. For instance, pectorals, even on relatively skinny people have ridges that run accross them. Bulging muscles, and especially wrists on weight lifters, tend to have one or two veigns popping out of them. Have fun with it, but don't overdo it.

i love the colors and textures, and the shift from brighter colors in the upper left to darkness in the lower right. his hair is awesome!

instantly, when i saw the preview image i thought of planka from street fighter.
on full view this is quite stunning, you can tell alot of effort was put into making this.

i think the simple large strokes lenmd a certain ferocity to this pic thuogh possible the axes could have been done in a bit more detail, otherwise very nice piece

Yeah this has the right look for dark evil power... but it really doesn't fit the whole "leader of evil" idea.
Its a really nice image though, really good color and pose. Has a real brooding look about it. He is at the point where you tiptoe away from him until you are out of earshot then RUN!

Ack!!! He's scary!!! Your colour choices really gives the viewer an overall creeeped out feeling. (Or maybe being in a dark room is getting to me.) I really enjoy the hair you made it's so carefree and adds so much to his character. Great job.
