You can if you want, but I don't think you have to. About the only thing I'd consider doing if I were you would be making the 'm'/hawk part of the crest dark red (or just give it dark red trim/outlining) in order to make it pop out a bit from the silver oval behind it.

Hmmm, I don't know, with the Black and Red it has this more darker or Evil feel to it. And maybe it's the skull as well that gives off that feeling.
Speaking of which, what is Moonhawk's view on crime?
Batman like: no criminal should die, because Heroes don't kill.
Punisher: All criminals should die, because they will never reform.

I am thinking about doing the black and brownish red color instead.
The skull was for the mythology origin and it was neat to add it in.
I mixture of the both. Kindof like Black Adam or Moon Knight view of criminals.
