Description Hey folks! Sorry for any fancy dump. I got a few announcements here though real fast!

1) Putting a hold on the fiction for now, I am slowly easing into a larger project and combined with schoolwork, I need to parse out what i do exactly.

2) It's quickly becoming apparent that content will slow down for the next few weeks, sorry! But I gotta get school out of the way first.

Anyways, I wouldn't tie any of these sketches to any race, maybe the fat tailed drek as a drekipura but regardless, this is just kinda a general drekir form. Probably all drekirerlen since those drekir are bald like these guys anyhow.

So with less time to draw I figured one thing i could do is work out drekir flexibility, it's something ive never talked about with visuals and its quick to draw, with only about 30 minutes or so for a sketch and lining. So Drekir.
how flexible are they? What might it be like to move as one?

Well here  left to right top to bottom

Drekir naturally stand with a gut and legs parallel to the ground, as such drekir tend to have this natural bend to them as part of their typical standing posture. They can straighten out their body, however this tends to put their body off balance.
But when laying down the drek can easily lay flat. Their chest and belly laying flat on the ground no problem. They can't really bend much further forward like a human could. This is actually because they have a large ribcage and simply bending forward too far would force the sturnum into the muscles between the belly and chest. So their body naturally can't bend that far forward. Just about enough to look up from laying flat on the back.

This will dispell something people tend to ask me, the Drek's snout and mouth can't open up like a snakes. It comparatively opens about as much as a human mouth. with the mouth wide open one can see the membranes that keep the dreks only molars safe, these membranes ALSO keep the mouth from opening further

So Drekir can't really squat or kneel in the same way as a human can or might. A drek can bend their legs to stand or kneel sure but it's impractical and often uncomfortable, taking a lot of time to kneel and stand backup due to the drekir's legs just not being built for that. Crouching is often done more by arching the back and lowering the chest, making the body more lateral and lowering ones height.

The second row is just how drekir might lay down, they gotta sleep you know! While here i should talk about what one might sleep on. Typical style beds are fine, not perfect for a drek body but some may find it comfortable with their older human lives. hammocks are a no go as a drek body can't bend like a humans can, making a hammock uncomfortable at best. The most optimal sort of bed is seen with Caste Dragons and the drekir who adopt the bed style, they are often larger, amorphous cushions, like bean bags. These are most commonly just a pile of hay, feathers, foam, etc. covered with a blanket. Nicer beds may often take on a bean like shape, with a curve to it that a drek can lay belly down in to sleep more comfortably.

So drekir might want to actually reach the stuff they put on their backs. of course they can bend their torso side to side, maybe not as much as a human can but it's good enough to reach into a bag on their back. so the entire lower left corner is dedicated to that

Drekir sitting, they sit kinda like dogs. belly on the ground, legs arched out and arms pushing up from the ground

So the tail isn't too flexible, it can move up and down and is mostly for balance. However the tail is pretty powerful, and longer tailed drek races can actually use the tail to smack something if needed.

drekir legs are built for running forward, as such their comfortable flex limits are whats seen. if they have weight on them (standing) they can't move too far back or else the drek could risk pulling some of the muscles involved in running. Also standing with your legs like that is bound to make you fall onto the ground.

Drekir legs can rotate up quite a ways, it's not the most practical, its just it doesn't warrant evolution (or magic) to make it not flex so high, it basically serves no purpose and is a thing drekir can do. rotate their legs up pretty high, neat trick i suppose

Shaggy out!

So this means they could use their tail as a sort of chair?

no, the tail is strong but it would probably be uncomfortable. Also while the tail can move side to side, up and down, and wrap even between the legs or whatnot. I don't think it could be setup that the drek could balance on the tail.

For chairs drekir often use the ground, or will use stools. Chairs aren't as common since a drek kinda has a big tail coming out behind em that makes a solid backed chair impractical. So sitting is often just done on the ground or in stools

But maybe im wrong, I tend to be on a lot of things!

Oooh cool!! Yeah, I figured since you'd mentioned that the tail was super strong so I thought it might support 'em XD Thanks for the correct info ^^

I do have one more question though, with the wider chest area and their back constantly being bent/not four legged, wouldn't their back suffer from this over time due to gravity constantly pulling down on 'em? Would they ever need a brace?

The reason that works is just simply put

They have incredibly strong backs. I draconic society it was what they were essentially built to do by selective breeding and magical enchanting.

Even though drekir are smaller than the Driyalkir, they have incredible back strength. So their back is able to support the weight of their body simply on it's strength.
