Cupcake lizards!Made for my friend Elizabeth for her birthday(her nickname is Lizard). Unfortunately, these cupcakes were only seen and not eaten because Elizabeth's curious cat tried to help himself to some tasty treats in the middle of the night and knocked them to the floor where they splattered spectacularly. But at least they had a fun story behind them!

It's always a shame to hear about delicious goodies falling to their demise, but if these cuties were for me, I'm not sure I could eat them anyway: their eyes look up at the devourer with such an innocent, pleading expression that I don't think I could go through with it.

What kind of icing do you use for that? It looks more, well, gelatinous (for lack of a better term) than the buttercream that I'm used to working with.

The buttercream I used was watered down a little bit from adding the liquid gel to it to get the colors I wanted, also the picture was take after they had been enclosed in the container for a while.

Oh, she did. A lizard once tried to run up her leg while we were on vacation in Arizona and scared her half to death. I was five, so she would've been about seven. Hence the lizard nickname.
