Alix is synergy...I have made this drawing together with my DA drawing friend Isla [link] meaning we both used the same ref picture at the same time. Isla was my first watcher when I came on DA and she has been a true friend ever since.

David has beautiful pictures of Alix and Ina in his gallery that are great as ref pictures for drawing!
Alix is synergy...just see how she is combining the arts on DA, inviting people to share...and all she needs to do to unite us is look into that camera with her amazingly true eyes...

Painting is so much more difficult than drawing...I am sure you can draw like me
I saw a horse drawing that is really good, just feels like you should go on a bit when you stopped, to get more intense shadings, bigger light/dark contrast...
If you like we could do a drawing together of the same ref picture...would be fun! ... maybe a Christ picture???

thank you so much for all your kind comments, actually I find painting easier lol, my son is a pencil artist like you and spends hours even days on one drawing, I have not got as much patience , at college doing art I failed my developmental drawing classes, and life drawing but done well in all my painting or mixed media classes, yet before I went to college I hardly ever actually painted think I lacked confidence to scared to mess up a canvas lol
, cannt think what horse drawing it was I will have a peek it will be quite an old one if I cannt remember it lol ,
maybe we could do the same image but I paint it and you draw it that'd be fun

The drawing I referred to is called Β΄Wild Heart`. It really is very good! But drawinfg does take more time as you need to build up the depth and contrasts...when I do a drawing it takes about 10-15 hours...
I started drawing about 10 months ago, in april 2010 I did my first drawing and you can see that you learn a lot in a short time...whereas Β΄learningΒ΄ should be replaced by Β΄rememberingΒ΄.......
At school I did Art lessons as well and I wanted to do it so much, but couldnΒ΄t...because I had to work according to the rules of the teacher...I could not work from the heart but was focussed on doing what was expected, which leads to working from the mind...I did not draw for nearly 30 years and only now that I started again I have nobody telling me what to do or how to do it... so I really feel free to put my heart in it...
Doing a painting/drawing together from the same ref picture is a GREAT idea! as it sybolises the synergy in DA! hahaha. I have done various works together with other artists on DA, including drawing combined with poetry etc. it IS great fun! To me synergy is the driving force in the universe, nobody can do it on his own, it is equality of combined forces that build the universe, so letΒ΄s do it on a small scale!
LetΒ΄s see if we can find a good picture that we can both use...If you feel like it and find something let me know!

when I went to college last year to do art I had not drawn or painted for about 20 years lol , so I really struggled at first (still do lol), I agree with you about the restrictions in class , although I learnt a lot at college I found it stifling too, we had to do everything in a very specific way and there was no freedom atall for expression , which to me defeated the whole purpose of doing art, so I did not continue into the 2nd year, in fact my sister who really enjoyed painting until we went to college has not painted since... the whole experience put her off , now she is happy scrapbooking and doing crafts but I think she will find her love of painting again ..
I looked through your gallery , you can see how your drawings have developed over time almost like looking at an artists journal, I think your drawings are amazing and I'm not suprised that they take 10-15 hours to do...
