"I realized this morning I had secrets. Lots of secrets. People assume at time that I am perfect, and when I try to respond with the reasons why I am not.... I realized I could not tell. They were secrets. My secrets. Ones I wasn't ready to share with anyone yet. They belong to me, and I to them. A chill came over me, and a sadness I had not felt in a very long time. Those secrets were my life a long time ago, they consumed me, almost destroyed me. Today I no longer hide from these secrets. I have come to live with them quite successfully. Yet still, when I am reminded of them, a questioning thought comes over me. I wonder what life would be like if I had given in. If, perhaps, I belonged to them, instead of them belonging to me. I feel they deserve a tribute, and so I made this. We must treat our secrets with the utmost care. If not, they could turn on us."
