Snake and Meryl, sometime between MGS1 and MGS2. Heh, aren't they so depressing?
Umm... this was supposed to be an art trade with ~FlameWolf82 . I did get carried away with it. Again.
This was another idea I had but I never did get around to it because I lost most of my motivation for SnakexMeryl. When she did ask me for SnakexMeryl art, I decided to treat it as a personal project then. :q
It's a cliched idea, yes. But I did enjoy combining drawing+photomanipulation. I'm not too sure if I'm contented with how it turned out because there's still a degree of fakeness to it.

I might change it into that depending on the feedback... I wasn't quite sure which I liked better.

Yes, that. Or perhaps I just wasn't to keen since I hated advertising in general(let alone doing one) and not fond enough of photo manipulating to learn it well. XD Well I could easily pick up a tutorial or two and follow but I guess that's just me not preferring to do things requiring too much technical aspects, really. I prefer doing things that'd require more of pure skill. Ok, maybe a little technical but not too much.
Either way it still looks nice.

It's interesting, I'd give you that. xD I guess I have the patience to make something, but I don't have the patience to look for appropriate stocks. Your idea/execution for an ad is heavily dependent on proper stocks. Unlike drawing, where the only thing that will limit you from executing your idea properly is your skill. ....wait, did what I say even make sense? xD

urg...sad...so sad..haha XD but yeah! snake and meryl forever...their ending was a sad one but it would have been much better if things went the way they did in mgs 4, meryl and snake not being together anymore because of the weird stuff happening with snake..but meryl staying single...i mean for god sakes..she sounded soooo desperate when she proposed to johnny and all that crap :/ that doesn't sound like the feminine girl loathing, psychotherapy immune to man macho girl at all!
i keep my fingers crossed that somehow in future games she wil suddenly pop up to kick ass again XD

Yeah, as I said I've been in a depressed state for the past few days because of them. xDD
Somehow it doesn't feel right if MGS4 ended with Snake and Meryl getting back together. I don't mind her uh.... "developing" feelings for Johnny, I just wish that she did not propose back like that. =_= MGS4 would have been nicer if Kojima left it open-ended. And yes, I think the proposal kinda ruined her character for me.
Well, we'll just see about that, won't we? :q

i love stories with open endings..still leaves room for the readers/vieuwers to make up their own ending and everybody can be happy 
btw, if you felt sad because of meryl/snake i found this funny mgs fan artist on da and his blog made me so happy XD not sure if you know him already but it's sure worth to check out

Not exactly, I haven't. But funny, my friend and I were talking about FF7 and its spin offs were the same way. XDD I don't know about you, but she's a shipper of CloudxAerith. She really didn't like how they made Zach so important to Aerith's life in Crisis Core.

It is! The spinoffs/movies probably weren't that bad, but they just HAD to ruin CloudxAerith. Same with MGS4. Great, mindblowing game and all, but they just HAD to ruin SnakexMeryl.

I know... I can't believe that I just admitted that too. I used to be a hardcore shipper of the two. But it still holds a special place with me, since it was the first ever romantic pair I've supported so much.

No No, I miss drawing MGS too, I just have gotten wayy too much into South Park and Dragon Ball.
My wallpaper at my studio pC is Snake from Peace Walker, but I still love Meryl x Snake more. Yeah it was hard for me to see her and Johnny, but if Kojima decided they should be together, I am sure there is a reason for it. >__>
Anyways, I'll have to draw some Snake once in a while, I recently brought a bunch of MGS doujinshis, so happy, although it was moslty Naked Snake & Eva and Sunny being intimidated by Old Snake haha.

"Looked" is the keyword there, and that's what I was certainly trying to achieve that in this. And I guess it has been some time since I drew them seriously.

Thanks again. XD I based Meryl on a mixture of MGS1, TTS, and concept art, and Snake on his TTS and Pliskin appearance. I honestly don't like how he looks in MGS4. Not even his young version. XDD

I also prefer to think of it that way. ;_; That neither of them wanted to, but they had to go their own ways for the best. MGS4 hints that it was Snake who left, but MGS2:Subsistence's side mission says that it was Meryl who did. I don't know anymore to be honest.
Ever heard of the song First Love by Utada Hikaru? It reminds me a lot of Meryl's relationship with Snake.
