Description The Lion King is copied from Kimba The White Lion. I'm a little disappointed in Walt Disney. Now I won't be able to watch The Lion King live action (2019) because I'll just think of it as a copy from a old manga series. The Lion King was my favourite Disney movie when I was little. Just recently I found out that Disney stole and copied scenes from Tezuka's movie 'Kimba The White Lion'. Disney should really credit Tezuka. ☹😞

And it's my first time trying to draw Simba and Kimba so it's not that good.. especially Simba's foot and eyes. 😬😅

Kimba is saying "Anata wa nisemono des!" Meaning "You are a copy!"

Oh, the first Kimbaww post since the trailer release?

Hate to burst thy bubble, but neither would have come about if it weren't for Bambi. Osamu Tezuka was a huge Bambi nerd, even translated Disney's Bambi into manga form which later inspired him to write Kimba. Oh, and the juicy part, Kimba ain't even his real name. That's the result of Amurrican dubbing companies wanting to name him Simba, but since Simba was copyright at the time, they swapped the S for a K. And to make it even more hilarious, Kimba means feces in Swahili. If you found out about this through a Japanese website, you've been had. Sure they share some themes, but Kimba's themes get way darker and involve humans, TLK does not.
