Description
Well... I took a break from working on some stuff for my site and I was looking at some files. A while back I had done a whole mess of vector work for a project on music. Well anyway, it was on Busta Rhymes.I know some people here have seen some of them. You know who you are. Anyway, I never uploaded them. Since I'd still like to show you: here they are. In case you want to know, I used Illustrator and some photoshop for the illustrations.
Damn DA. Messing up with submissions.

Actually they could be created in photoshop although I prefer to use illustrator for vector work.

You did a great job on getting his hardcore and serious side, rather than the silly one people usually see.

Ah, a prime example of vector art! Methinks this is quite good, really. The mild gradient shading is a nice touch, but overall it almost looks like a photograph that was altered, thanks in no small part to the extremely realistic proportions, shading, and character design. As a matter of fact, I would ask of you if you had done this on a layer above an actual photograph, using the photograph(s) as reference? It's just so well done....

Yeah reference was used. Not for all of them though. I remember scanning some pictures but they didn't come out clearly enough, too dark so I couldn't really rely on them too much. That's why the skin on him looks a bit light. I tried more of the references for the tatoos as for the rest, patience was my ally. It took me a lot of tries to get the illustrations to come out right but it worked.
