This "lovely" lady here (Forgive me the crappy quality/size, but she actually was meant to become an avatar before I realized I liked it enough to share it.) is one of my RP-Characters: Preeya'Lem vas Citadel, theoretical physicist, and self-proclaimed pioneer of social matters...

I play her at MERPU, tumblr, skype, gave permission to use her on dA...
Pretty much anywhere where a ME-character could be needed... And she's kinda one of my personal favourite characters - Most of all because she's an emotionally retarded little extraterrestrial NERD. ^^

Age: 26 Standard years

Skin: Light blue-ish grey

Personality:
She feels and acts socially very awkward and appears cold and aloof at first. Even though being intelligent and very open-minded, Preeya does not understand mimic, irony or sarcasm (yet).
Due her pragmatic nature she easily accepts pretty much anything - no matter how weird, and has no problem with adapting to new challenges.
Regardless her difficulties with people Preeya gladly spends time with others. She enjoys making new acquaintances and is very helpful and protective towards anyone - regardless status or species.

Background:
Due her difficulties to sense other people’s emotions/motivations, Preeya easily gets mistaken for being non-caring, which is far away from truth.

She refused to participate the Flotilla’s attack on the Geth fleet to retake Rannoch because she considered such an act to be morally wrong. She indeed is a rather pacifist person and would only use violence to protect someone from danger in progress..

She grew very fond of children, and gets along with them surprisingly well, much to her own confusion.
She secretly suffers from her inability to have children of her own because she would have loved to be a mother.

She actually prefers life aboard starships and space stations over living on a planet - Most of all because she enjoyed life on the Flotilla and the Citadel a lot.

Even judged by quarian standards her immune system (as well as Preeya’s physical constitution in general) is fragile and vulnerable, as it is like amongst all members of her family.

During the first attack on the Citadel Preeya had been heavily injured and almost lost her left leg. Also is she unable to have children of her own ever since.
During the following emergency operation she almost died, which is the reason she currently walks with one stiff knee joint and has to use a walking pole most of the time, since she considers a second surgery to get herself a fully functioning implant to be too risky for now.

Depending on time-setting Preeya has an immuno-boost therapy assistant transferred into her suit for the above reason.

Her Enviro-suit is a rather older, and more unisex model, basically held in black and copper colours, with red appliques.

Even though being small, fragile and physically handicapped, Preeya has very quick reflexes, making her a fantastic Ping-pong-player and gamer. Playing holovid games is actually one of her biggest (non-work-related) hobbies.

She loves old science fiction novels and shows. She adores people like Jules Verne and Arthur C. Clarke and her personal favourite quote is “To boldly go where no one has gone before.”

Preeya seems to lack the ability to recognize faces. Like most Quarians she entirely relies to her helmet-HUDs’ ID tags. Yet in Preeya’s case it’s not for reasons of comfort. If someone does not use ID-Tags she keeps them in mind by remembering their voices, circumstances of meeting, details like facial markings or clothing, and most important of all: By their (told) names.
She overcomes this when working together with certain people for several times, getting used to them and getting some practise in remembering/identifying. For example: When asked to identify a stranger she just once met in a public place she neither would be able to remember look, species or attitude, but when working together with several nearly similar looking persons for a couple of days/times she would be able to identify each of them without any problems.

Like many Quarians Preeya does not feel comfortable in utter silence. To be more specific: Silence makes her nervous and even can cause her to panic when being subjected to for longer times. To prevent that she constantly listens to music or news feeds over the internal speakers of her helmet, when not having someone to actually talk to.

I decided to do a new ID-Picture for 2014 and chose Preeya'Lem to "represent" myself.
Most of all, because the awesome got me into XNALara, and I really enjoy toying with the Quarians he sent to me some weeks ago.
Also I really wanted to show at least a little of the stuff I already came up with for now. ^^
(Also: Gotta love Quarians! As some of you guy already might know they're one of my favourite alien species - Not just in ME, but in Sci-Fi in general. ^^)

I admit, I did this picture without much further reason - I only needed something to occupy my time (and my hands) while I was skyping (I can't read/write while speaking XD) with two of my friends for almost ten HOURS...
But just as I already told: I quite like it, even though I know I'm not as experienced as other XNALara-artists like or yet. XD (But hopefully one day...)
