Description
} )) Pale (( {[ Download / Zoom in for best view ]
Species ) )) Unknown (Wallaby, Jackal, Driftwood Hybrid)
Behind Name) )) Sun bleached
Gender ) )) Male
Age ) )) 130,000 years (when man overcame fear of water)
Personality ) )) Cold, Intelligent, Witty
Likes ) )) Water, Bad Weather, Beach Glass
Dislikes ) )) Trash, Sonar, Dolphins
Home ) )) From the watery depths to sands of the shore
About ) )) When the shadowy depths of the ocean claimed its first victim, Pale was born. He does not revel in death, but it keeps him together, alive. He collects trash, bottles, and other debris to record the last thoughts of the souls he helps depart.
Design Notes ) )) His body is made up of bits of reclaimed driftwood from the shore, and always loses some during reaping and storms. Tail is large, brittle, but has a sort of flow to it that doesn't impede his movement. His cloak is ancient, and is what, for the most part, keeps him together.

Woah. You've really improved since I disappeared for awhile!
Impressive as usual, though!
Would really love to try and draw this guy some time when I feel up to it.

Haha, thank you! I spent way too much time on this, as usual. I'm also working on like. 4 other refs that I started around the time of this one too, that will get posted... eventually xD
Welcome back! It's nice to hear from you!

I'd really like a better comparison or ref or description for his tail. You say its large and doesn't impede movement, but is it kind of close to his body, or is it longer?
It's hard to tell here. Is it like the driftwood roots of a tree, all twisted and close together? That's kind of what it looks like...

The tail would have the consistency of vines, so it can move around itself, it doesn't need to be as rigid/stiff as the rest of the body! Basically however you want to draw it, it's the same color as the rest of him, but the size can vary-
Whatever looks right!

HOLY COW the driftwood texture/shapes/details in his design are SO COOL. And his soggy ragged cloak!

Aha, thank you xD
And yup! I still use MS Paint for the majority of my art, I only just started using Gimp for thing like my shattered artwork. This was all done in Paint :3
Been working on it since like January, it took way too long, but I love the end result.
