Description
I kinda like this character. Maybe I should make something decent out of her, besides sketches.Related content

Wow, those poses..and that anatomy!! I am struggling with learning anatomy for a while already, did live classes but that did not help except I got better at gesture drawing, but when it comes to imagination it's just gets too complicated. What would be the best way to learn it that it sticks? Draw a pose from reference and then same pose from imagination (same goes for different body parts)?

Thanks again
I personnaly kind of "forced my way" into anatomy. I mean, I never actually studied anatomy, and spent a lot of time reinventing technics that are probably taught in art classes.
I mostly drew over photographs and other people drawings (with tracing paper first and then on layers in painting softs), to decompose the body in manageable chunks, and familiarize myself with overall body proportions. I did pages and pages of various body part too, and cut-aways (I believe it's english for "Γ©corchΓ©"). Combine this with gesture drawings for some dynamics, some thumbnailing and perspective, and voilΓ (sort of )
If you're looking for some good references and techniques, someone sent me this awesome collection on Pinterest : www.pinterest.com/characterdes⦠(but seriously, it doesn't feel like you need it that much )
There's also these books from Burne Hogarth :Β burnehogarth.com/blog/books , which I like because he exaggerates muscles and important lines to make them more apparent.

Hello, i'm a newbie. I was check your gallery and all of them is beauty (even this sketch).
I want to ask you how you take care the mouth and the nose. Here is pic that i draw last week hailmyself.deviantart.com/art/β¦
I really don't know how to take care of it the right way. Normaly i just draw them all (or make them just as a shadow). And usualy i screw a whole pic like this one hailmyself.deviantart.com/art/β¦
Can you give me any tips about it ?

Well, first of all, you should cover pages of indicidual face parts. In this case, nose and mouth, but don't hesitate to study each part separatly. In the mean time, use simple shapes to study overall body proportions.
Second, avoid testing new techniques while making a full drawing. If you screw it up near the end or halfway through, you'll just end up discouraged, and you don't want that.
As for specific techniques regarding noses and mouths, I don't really have a simple way to do them. The only one is to draw a bunch of them from reference (photographs mostly).
But you might get some pointers from this :Β www.pinterest.com/characterdesβ¦
It's a huge collection of various references, not only for the face. I wish I had something like that since my first drawings, it would probably have helped, although, most of the work comes from practice, and your own understanding of how anatomy works.
Good luck with your drawing journey

Anatomy is hard to learn, but it is really rewarding in the end.
