Description Ink on Bristol.

-This piece took approximately 6 months to create.

-This was worked on and off over a few years. I worked on location in Malta (where my father was born) creating a unique representation of the island in the upper left corner. The upper right corner is Detroit, MI

-It was after finishing both of these corners that I realized this was a subconscious homage to my father.

-This drawing tells of his many travels, as well as a handful of his many careers.
For example: The checker pattern below the city on the left represents his time as a cab driver in New York City; The many layers of tubes toward the bottom exemplify him as a plumber.

-Small, but not unseen, the left thumb he lost years ago lays hidden within this drawing.

Really awesome; I love the heavy detail and it's a great use of perspective.

Since you checked Advancded Critique thingie, I do have a suggesting; adding some people somewhere on the drawing would help give a much better sense of scale, even it's it;s little more than dot.

I appreciate your comment and vary much, thank you. I am also glad you gave me a suggestion. Most people just oooh and ahh, no one really tells you what needs to be done. Thus, I chose advanced critique, and lo and behold! I have often thought about putting people into my drawings, but...well, first of all, they would be, as you put it, dots. The cities are supposed to represent the civilizations that cohabitate this realm, and I always thought that if I did indeed show these people, they would have to be robots of some shape or form. Human flesh would just pull the viewer away from the cold, hard steel that has developed into this strange atomosphere. I am working on 2 larger drawings right now, one black and white, one color. I shall indeed consider your suggestion while completing them. Thank you.

No problem; I myself always check advanced critique, but I hardly ever get it. But it's always nice to see someone who takes critique well.
I don't think something as small as a dark silhouette dot would take away from the cold feel of your metropolis. Check out some paintings by The Hudson River School (old art movement) for some examples. The only thing you'd have to watch out for is composition; people will be draw to the person really easily.
I'll look for your new stuff when you put it out

it was funny how this tribute to my father just snuck up on me. I love when my art takes control over me, ya know?
