The outside world is so awful... So much pain and stress and disappointment... All I ask is to run away, and leave all the negative feels behind... So I closed my eyes, and found my own perfect hiding place, deep in thoughts...I didn't get motivation to draw pretty long time.
My life became so much harder. I don't find to joke as much as one year ago, every day I need to pass through many stressful, irritating, disappointing, and depressing moments. Everything is serious and boring. I find myself angry or crying pretty often.
But yesterday and I could find for myself time to relax, and my motivation back to me. I was inspired from my dear friend, PaintedVulture 's drawing she made for me one year ago I think.
So I admit I copied the pose and used a pretty same color palette, but these days it's hard to me to be 100% original.
I hope to get to draw more often...

I love everything about it, but if I had to find errors, I would say either add a but more detail to the ground, as it seems the trees melt into the frame of the picture. Either way, it's still amazing! ^^

the background and the trees are like that because the scene happens in the dragon's thoughts, so everything there is melting and un-detailed 0u0

I love how everything is kinda is kinda wispy in the background and the dragon looks more solid and defined. I dunno, that's just what I noticed^^

the background looks like that because the situation happens in the dragon's thoughts. well, at least in my thoughts I can focus on only one thing and the other details will just blur ^^

About this work: I'm impressed by your treatment of color and 'lighting.' I've looked at PaintedVulture's piece and yours: and with due respect to what you said, I do not think you copied the original's palette. There are strong similarities, but they're two different works. Well done.
About the way you've been feeling: I would like to offer my respectful sympathy. I don't know how you feel, of course, but your words reminded me of quite a few periods of my first six decades. I don't remember being bored: that may not be possible for me. Depressed, yes: bored, no.
Enough. I am glad to see that you posted this, and hope that you find time, energy, and motivation to do more. No pressure, of course.

nah, faving a drawing is like clicking on the "like" button on a post in facebook, so it's totally fine and it's not stealing at all.
"I 'copied' the pose" means that I did the same pose, it doesn't meat that I really copy-pasted it lol, and I used blues and purples like PV did, just in different hues.
but I'd say I did it like kind of... fan-art about friend's art style? not sure how to explain that.
I believe that those feelings will pass right after the school's pressure and stress will be left behind, so no worries heh.
life without boredom? can you lend me your knowledge about that?

There's no shame in taking inspiration from or even redrawing other works (well, as long as the owner is fine with it that is). Being 100% original is hard.

I'm sorry you're having trouble, but you're not alone. We all trip and scrape our knee. The important thing is to pick ourselves up and dust off. Some get hurt worse than others, then we find those to talk to or help us out. If you ever need an ear bro than hollar my way.
As for drawing, it's pretty damn cool. I'm sure PV won't mind, it's hard being original.

yeah, but good thing that every morning I restart and don't remember what happened day before. I know there'll always be a tomorrow and it always inspires me to get up on my legs and carry on..
and PV was totally fine with that and even feels proud to inspire others
