It wasn't as much the curses, as the tumble and successive thud noise that had got his attention: when Haku looked back at the position where Ona was supposed to be, a riderless Zlesdin with a very proud look stared back at him.
Even in the snowstorm, it wasn't difficult to find Ona. Just follow those angry swearings he had got so accustomed to hearing. It was basically just background noise now anymore.
"I shared my scarves with you! You absolute f*kface!"
Haku was quick to jump off of Ozzie's back and rescue Ona from the shallow snow she had fallen in. "There there. Are you still in one piece?"
She ignored the sarcasm in his voice. "I'm cold. Very." Ona drawled as she stared at her beloved horse, her hat now lost to the ages.
