    His heart ached. After finding out the truth, Alex felt it hard to live on. He had lead to his brother's death, and even if he tried to convince himself it was an accident, he still blamed himself.

   Alex knew it was a selfish thought,but he wanted Josh to be alive more than anyone else. He wanted to keep the young boy to himself. Keep him safe and happy,but Alex felt he did the exact opposite. He filled him with terror and killed him. The young man believed that not even death was a good enough punishment for himself,but being denied the warmth and comfort of the younger brother could be worse then death.

   He limped into the familiar house. It was so empty and cold. He wanted to die. Just end it all,but a strange feeling overtook him as his eyes locked onto the small puddles of water that trailed up the stairs. Alex weakly moved up the stairs, afraid of what he might find. The puddles lead to his old room.


   Alex couldn't believe his eyes. It had to be a dream or some twisted sick joke. It couldn't be him...it couldn't be Joshua. There was just no way....

  "Alex! You're back." Josh looked up from his camera and smiled. He had the Shepherd Family necklace around his neck and Alex's flashlight next to him on the bed. His body was so pale and his cheeks were blushed. There were still little water droplets sliding off of his body.....dripping from his hair and sliding down his pale legs....he looked like an angel. An angel who had the misfortune of falling into Toluca Lake. The sight was almost to much for Alex and he fell to his knees. Josh quickly ran to his brother and got on his knees in front of him.

   "I'm so sorry...please, forgive me, Joshua....I didn't mean to...." his head hung and his eyes were filling with tears.

  "Alex...it's okay. I'll always forgive you, I know you didn't mean to hurt me." Josh lifted Alex's head with both of his hands on his cheeks.

   The older boy hadn't noticed in until his eyes met the younger of the two. Josh's voice, his face, and his body were more mature than Alex remembered. He looked about thirteen. Still so young....so beautiful. He had always been and always will be beautiful. Alex had fought these feelings for so long. He denied the thoughts from entering his mind. He couldn't anymore. He knew it was considered disgusting, wrong, forbidden, and vile,but it was something he had to do. His body and heart wanted so much more,but his mind would only permit a kiss.

  Alex's massive hands went instinctively to Josh's warm, rosy red cheeks. Bringing the younger one's face to his, he allowed his lips to press against Josh's. Alex was afraid Josh would pull away and be afraid or upset,but instead allowed Alex to wrap his arm's around the kneeling boy. Josh kissed back, his tongue reaching into the older man's mouth. Their tongues clashed and bodies quivered. Alex knew it could never get farther then this,but why not enjoy it while they could? Josh's grip tightened around his neck as Alex's tightened around his waist. Their bodies seemed to move in union. Oh, what a glorious moment it was as their lips smacked back and forth. It was euphoric, like a drug. He never knew that his brother could possibly feel the same way as he did.

  Hours later the two laid calmly together on the familiar bed. Alex still couldn't believe that his brother was alive, sitting next to him,but now he knew. He had to protect his angel and keep him happy.
