       It happened so fast...Joshua was there...and then he wasn't. They were just goofing around like brothers did, but rocking the boat turned out to be a bad idea. He had fallen in. Alex was quick on his feet and jumped in after his brother. He had saved him, but now he was in a coma. And Alex was a wreck.

      The accident had happened a month ago. Although Joshua's brain was still active, if he would wake up or not was unknown. And it tore the family even farther apart. Although Alex was already eighteen, he had been beaten worse then ever before by his father and he took each hit and blow without protest because he felt it was all his fault.

      Even with the malicious beatings and his terrible appearance thanks to them, Alex still went to visit his brother everyday. Even his face was littered with cuts and bruises, which caused the nurses to look away in horror or gasp when they saw him. He ignored this and simply thought 'you aren't why I'm here.'

    He sat next to his brother's bed, just like any other day, and stared down at him. Some times Alex would read to him, or talk to him, but today he just stared. He brushed the dark locks away from Joshua's pale forehead.

     "I guess I should tell you the truth, huh?" Alex smiled weakly. "If you can hear me...I want you to know...I love you...so much..." He ran hid hand against Joshua's small face. The boy's cheeks were a lite with a slight pinkness, which made Alex red as well. "I love you...how I'm not supposed to, but you mean everything to me...I'm so sorry..." He started to sob slightly, but felt a gentle and soft hand touch his face.

     "Alex..." Josh licked his pink lips slightly."....I love you too..." And before the young man could respond, his brother leaned up and lightly pecked his older brother's lips.

     "J-Josh...." Alex pulled him up and kissed deeper, showing his affection and caring. He wrapped his arms around the boy's tiny body. He had wanted to hold the boy like this for so long...and now he could. Even if it was just once.
